- To move against the Empire, the Mandalorian needs the help of an old enemy.
- Cara Dune (Gina Carano) who is a Marshal of the New Republic, gets Mayfeld (Bill Burr) released from a New Republic scrapyard in Karthon since he can find out the co-ordinates of Moff Gideon's Imperial star cruiser. Mayfeld is not thrilled with the idea of working with the Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) but he agrees to help when he learns that Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) has kidnapped Grogu. They embark for Morak, a secret Imperial mining hub where Mayfeld believes he can access a terminal, which will help them locate Moff Gideon's cruiser. Along with Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison), Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen), Cara Dune and Mayfeld, the Mandalorian formulates a plan to get inside the Imperial facility: hijack a transporter vehicle, disguise themselves as troopers, and slip in. However since they'll be scanned at the facility's entrance, only the Mandalorian can go along with Mayfeld as the others do not have a clean record and might be recognized.
After Cara captures a juggernaut transporter, the Mandalorian removes his Beskar armor for the trooper's suit and leaves the Beskar armor in the care of Cara Dune. On the way to the Imperial facility, they get radio reports that a couple of transporters ahead of them have blown up - the transporters are carrying an extremely unstable substance called rhydonium - and soon enough they encounter the pirates who have been sabotaging the transports. The Mandalorian tries his best to deal with the pirates in spite of not having his armor or weapons and that Mayfeld is not able to go full speed as it might set off the rhydonium that they are carrying. Just when it seems that the Mandalorian will be overwhelmed, they are saved by TIE fighters and storm-troopers
Soon though, matters are complicated. Two of their fellow transporter ships are blown up - they are carrying an extremely unstable substance called rhydonium - and soon the very pirates descend on Mando and Mayfeld, looking to do the same. Mando does his best to deal with them, but the fact that he doesn't have his armor or any of his signature weapons slows him down. It doesn't help that Mayfeld can't go full speed, because the bumpy ride alone would set off the rhydonium. And just when things look very bleak, they are saved by TIE fighters and Stormtroopers.
They enter the Imperial facility but Mayfeld panics at the sight of Valin Hess (Richard Brake), an Imperial officer he served under, who is sitting in the very area where they need to access a terminal. So the Mandalorian steps up and tries to access the terminal himself but is forced to remove his helmet when the machine terminal asks for a face scan. This alerts Valin who walks up to him and questions who he is. Mayfeld steps in just in time to save him by cooking up a story. Mayfeld tells Valin that Mando's hearing is terrible, which is why he wasn't answering him. Valin then offers the two of them a drink as they were the only ones who made it safely with the transporter ship. Valin doesn't recognize Mayfeld though. While having the drink they talk about a battle where the Imperial forces lost a lot of men. While Mayfeld's anger is rising, Valin doesn't seem to care about what happened to the men under his command. Mayfeld snaps and he shoots Valin point blank.
After they take out the other imperials in their vicinity, Mayfeld offers the Mandalorian his trooper helmet back saying he never saw Mando's face. The two then make their way out of the facility, with help from sharpshooters Fennec and Cara who had been standing by for aid. Fett then extracts them in his ship, just as Mayfeld blows up the entire facility by shooting the shipment of rhydonium that they came in with. As a result, they decide to let Mayfeld go, instead of taking him back to the scrapyard prison. The Mandalorian then transmits a message to Gideon on his cruiser warning him that he is coming to get Grogu back.
