- Jean Kay (28), A French Citizen in 1971 risked his own life to support Bangladeshi refugees by sending medicine and food, hijacking PIA 707 Boing on 3 December 1971 and demanding support from French Government. Within 7 hours of Hijacking at Orly Airport, all passengers start supporting the cause and because of them it was a memorable plane hijacking in the history of world. Although hijacking was failed and Jean Kay was detained, French government fulfilled the demand by sending the Aid to Bangladesh through French Red Cross and Order of Knights Hospitallers.—Fakhrul Arefeen Khan
- Jean Kay story is one of the extra ordinary one which shows the empathy of French peoples for Bangladesh and its people. How a French Citizen in 1971 risked his own life for the support for Bangladesh refugees for sending aid and food by hijacking PIA on 3 December 1971 and demanding aid from French Government.
Although hijacking was failed and Jean Kay was detained , French government fulfilled the demand by sending the Aid to Bangladesh through French Red Cross and Order of Knights Hospitaliers.
It started with arriving of the Plane at the airport in Paris . At the same day the whole country was waiting for welcoming Chancellor of Germany of that time but all on a sudden a French Citizen demanded to send aid to Bangladesh Peoples to save their peoples specially children who were suffering in the 1971 Liberation War of Bangladesh
After sometime when Govt. verbally agreed to fulfill the demand 8 passenger and 1 Child was being freed in first lot. And with the 20 Tons of medicine , police entered the place in disguise and able to catch Jean Kay. and later on through trial he was being jailed for 5 years although a huge number of French Peoples supported his noble demand. Later on French Govt. sent that crucial aid to Bangladesh Refugee that is an international aid from France for the Peoples of Newly Independent country of BANGLADESH
The last passengers leave the plane, go down the gangway steps hurriedly, Janquet is carried in ambulance till Orly's police office, where he is given a first questioning. The crew go back to the air terminal, few minutes later there are the very first testimonies of passengers and policemen in front of the information cameras (Mr Peyresaube):"The young man, who looked about 24 years old, has given to the hostess, stewards and us the right to take some dinner" (Journalist):" And what was his behavior toward you, has he drudged his gun toward you?" "Absolutely not, he was excessively full of amiability, very nice" (Journalist)"Did he spoke to you?" (Mr Peyresaubes)"Oh yes he did, yes yes" (Journalist):"What did he said to you? (Mr Peyresaubes): "He said to us it was to give medicine, that we shouldn't be worried, and he has placed in the back of the plane a little girl with her mother, and then we when met the people who were carrying medicine, he has allowed to leave the old men
