This seemed like a low budget Netflix movie with two known actors they hired in order to get more views. Not scary at all. Seemed like a bad teen movie. The ending was terrible.
Oh wow...like any horror fan I was really rooting for this one, with "Mr Saw" Tobin Bell and "Mrs Insidious" Lyn Shae, both in the same movie how could you go wrong? The script is the worse piece of garbage that ever existed. The only good thing about this movie is Lyn Shae's acting and she's not onscreen very much. Sadly, this was/is a terrible movie.

Speaking slowly and having long pauses between sentences is not suspenseful or scary.
The stupid make up is not scary.
The ridiculous script, now that was scary. How someone thought that nonsense up and how it held a 6.9 rating at the time of my post is scary.
The movie felt like it went for 400 hours, no exaggeration.
Please avoid

Whoever rated this film a 10 was obviously paid to do so. Easily the worst movie I've seen in theaters. Hands down. No plot. Horrible acting. Absolutely horrid !!!!!
This movie is one of the worst directed, worst written, and worst acted horror movies I have seen in awhile. Just skip it and find anything else. The ending, if u can even call it that, makes no sense, basically the movie just stops.

This movie couldn't be less interesting. It's so painful to sit through. I'm so glad I watched it at home and not in a theater.

In the expansive and thrilling realm of horror, "The Call" unfortunately misses the mark on nearly every front. From the opening scenes, it was clear that the chills were going to be few and far between. The film's inability to elicit any genuine fright is, perhaps, its most glaring flaw.
Narrative cohesiveness is another challenge for "The Call". Instead of focusing on crafting an engaging and spine-tingling story, the plot seems to meander through predictable twists and lackluster character arcs. There were numerous instances where the movie appeared to be building to a significant revelation or a suspenseful climax, only to fall flat and leave viewers underwhelmed.
Now, I must say, it's always commendable to see the hard work of the cast and crew come to fruition on the big screen, even if the outcome isn't as anticipated. The silver lining here? The cast and crew's efforts weren't entirely in vain, as they were, at the very least, compensated for their contributions. One can only hope that they'll use their talents in more captivating projects in the future.

Do yourself a favor, don't watch. There's no creativity, no scares, no real horror besides the presence of our Jigsaw's star and his Insidious's wife. Seriously, whoever made this movie might know how to operate a camera but can't disguise his/her lack of horror moviemaking skills. I wish i hadn't wasted my time on this movie. Actually, I very rarely take the time to write a review, if any, so you may guess how much lower than "one star" this movie deserves for a rating.

Waste of time. The teen acting is terrible and annoying, the stories are forced, it doesn't make sense..there's nothing entertaining about this. The throwback element fails, and doesn't add anything to the story.
Oh what a disappointment of a film. The two oldies were fine. Why were the high school students payed by 30 year olds. This idea of actors who are 30 something playing high school students reminded me of 982316639000, or what ever that high school series was called in the 1980s staring Shannon Doherty lol. Goodness knows why this film was set in the same era. The storyline was very weak, the acting was so so. The casting for the two oldies were good. The casting for the high school students was totally wrong. The casting director should have got detention for this miscasting of the young character. Laughable at least.

How are such movies even made and get a theatrical release? I refuse to believe that no one along the way pointed out that this is a complete mess.
One of the worst movies i have ever had the misfortune to watch, too loud, too dark, too blurry and they were the positive bits! Plot was absurd, the acting was worse. The storyline made no sense whatsoever. I cannot stress enough not to waste your time on this, if you have 90 minutes spare I would suggest using it to watch paint dry instead.

I am not young and I have never seen such a boring movie with the worst actors, dull, no acting, no script, no plot and nothing!
Such a waste of time, I was fast forwarding during the whole time till I just closed it without watching the end, everything was so predictable and even my expectations were better!
The same scene was repeated over and over and over, BORING!!! The only good thing about that movie is that I am writing a review for the 1st time because I am so damn angry!

Omg. I've seen some bad movies. But this was BAD!
The whole film was pointless, random and frankly made absolutely no sense whatsoever!
The first 20 minutes or so were an almost comical and VERY generic attempt at a 'high school' group of idiots with no backstory and absolutely NO substantial point to the film whatsoever.
Come midway through the film, those idiots find themselves in a situation which is ABSOLUTELY the most confusing story of a film I've possibly ever seen! Maybe not so much confusing as it was PATHETIC and completely as bizarre as you can get in a low budget 'horror'.
(Now a side point. This is NOT a 'horror'.) The production, makeup, camera crew, director and so on, probably believe they did a brilliant job. Nope! Every aspect of this film was embarrassing, ESPECIALLY the weakest cast actors that I've ever seen! It was borderline funny!
And to top it all off, after around 75/80 mins of absolute crap and no structure of a film, they have the cheek to not only TRY and give us a 'twist' but actually muck that up too. Because it made no sense or impact WHATSOEVER!
I have left some reviews over time but I SWEAR, this is the worst I've ever written about any film! It's dreadful!
I feel sorry for Lin Shaye and Tobin Bell because I genuinely know they're both AMAZING actors and I wish they hadn't been involved in any way.
This film is CRAP. Full stop. End of.

I never leave reviews but for this one? Totally necessary. Man, I thought the village was one of the worst "horror" movies I've ever seen. Hands down, this one takes the cake! No plot, bad acting, terrible story telling, nothing was explained or even freaking made sense!

The "teenage" actors are all actually in their 30's. I don't know why they thought they could pull off playing high school students. So dumb! Not scary! Bad acting! Stupid plot.

Totally understand why so many people rated 1 star! It's extremely slow and boring! I can't imagine it ended with a black tongue, and the whole story is just like a joke.
