Four Great Women and a Manicure is a great Simpsons episode with very well written stories and loads of very funny scenes. It's certainly a unique episode, we've seen the characters telling stories before, but these were much wackier, almost like Treehouse of Horror with more innocence, and it consists of four stories instead of the usual three. However, I felt they should have stuck with three stories, the last three were interesting and inspired, the Queen Elizabeth one was a weak start, it felt very thrown in and forced, like they had time to do another segment that they weren't very pushed on writing. My favourite segment was definitely the Snow White one, I loved the several digs it made at Disney and the casting for the dwarfs was hilarious, the Lady Macbeth part was also very funny and easily could have been a Treehouse of Horror segment, and Maggie Roark was very different for the series in general, Jodie Foster's guest appearance was particularly interesting. Four Great Women and a Manicure isn't the highlight of the shows landmark twentieth season, but it's certainly a fun episode.
While they wait for a manicure, Marge and Lisa bond by telling each other stories of great women in history.
