Warning: Spoilers
It is a must see Sarah jane. Clowns are suppost to be very funny and scary at the same time, and this one did a very good job of that. It is sad as well. But there is a new character that showed she could be good and she is. I like her style and her role, and she stands out tremendously so for that it is a great one to watch.

Day of the IT

Warning: Spoilers
Rani Chandra is the new girl on Bannerman Road. She is haunted by a sinister clown. Does it have anything to do with local children who have gone missing? When Clyde's friend Dave disappears, the trail leads to a strange circus museum and the legend of the Pied Piper.

Review of both parts -

I swear, Elisabeth Sladen is the best-acting Doctor Who Companion, she can shed a tear any moment, god damn! Most likely that this story is inspired of Stephen King's IT, we got a new character who is THE RANI! No, not that Rani... She's such a "likeable" character, what really surprised me is that when the gentlemen appeared, I just realized it was bloody Bradley Walsh. Holy sh**, lol. If you do not know who he is, he would later be a companion to Jodie Whittaker for series 11 of Doctor Who. I swear, Graham is such a OG. Screw Ryan and Yaz! It would be interesting if there was a spin-off series about Graham, Wilfred, and Rory's dad when they travel in space which would be wholesome and awesome because they are both old, lmao. Crazy idea I've been thinking about.

The story was almost enjoyable thanks to our new character... THE RANI!!! (( No... not that one... )), just wonderful.

10/10!

Entry level horror, great episode.

A clown is seen by the local youth, but only those that received a ticket inviting them to a rather strange show.

Definitely It vibes here, horror in all its glories.

This was a great start, one of the show's most memorable storylines, definitely a more adult theme, I wonder how many youngsters got a taste for horror as a result of this.

Anji is great, absolutely no complaints at all, apart from one, she's the oldest schoolgirl ever, here she's 24, and to me when looks it, you never would have questioned Paige's age, Mohindra does look older, she's awesome though, I'm not at all surprised she's done so well since leaving the show. If I'm honest, I preferred Rani to Maria, I'll never forget that everyone thought she may have been The Rani. Anji settled in so quickly.

Nice to see The Bill's George Garfield here as Luke's teacher, and of course great to see the wonderful Bradley Walsh.

Like Sarah Jane, I hate clowns, so this definitely have me the creeps.

9/10.

Love IT

Review of both parts:

It is true to say that this is somewhat derivative of Stephen King's 'IT' but I do not see that as a negative. Doctor Who classics have often derived ideas from classic scifi or horror - Brain of Morbius = Frankenstein, Dalek Invasion of Earth = War of the Worlds, The Ice Warriors & Seeds of Doom = The Thing from Another World etc etc. All films and TV tend to borrow aspects from others and this borrows aspects of IT but presents them in a clever, effective way that works for an under 18 audience but is properly scary and disturbing.

It is wonderfully surprising that Russell T Davies and the team were brave enough to make Sarah Jane Adventures scary and in fact I find when watching it with my children there are more Sarah Jane episodes that are 'hide behind the sofa' scary than Doctor Who! Interesting and thrilling to get material that is creepy and challenging. I love the horror aspects of Doctor Who and love when Sarah Jane ventures quite often into that territory. This is very successful in doing that.

We get future Doctor Who companion Bradley Walsh putting in a great turn as villainous clown/circus master/pied piper and the idea of it actually works better than it does in Stephen King's filmed versions of IT. Both IT films have great beginnings and creepiness but veer into unconvincing supernatural plots in my opinion. This plot is more convincing and clever and it is only held back by the need to be suitable for a family audience. The teenage aspects and humour distract from the horror for an adult seeking scares but are necessary for the target audience.

This is a very strong adventure.

My ratings: Both parts - 9/10.
