'Tourist Home' depicts the happenings in the lives of unrelated characters living in 10 separate rooms of a Tourist Home, over a short period of time. I had bought the DVD of this film after my curiosity was piqued by the catchline on the cover - "10 Writers, 1 Director, 1 Shot". The makers of this film claim that the film has been shot in a single take, which sounds like an accomplishment in itself. Unfortunately, the film in itself is a total mess for it's laborious to watch despite the involvement of 10 writers. It seems like the Director(Shebi) got so involved in the technical aspect of shooting the film in a single shot that he didn't pay much attention to make the story appear interesting on screen. All the actors in the film have done a decent job, but they can't salvage the film when the Direction itself is so weak. As a viewer it was difficult to feel invested in any story/character arc. The ending was as lame an ending as I have ever seen, with an absurd 'twist'. This film is an apt example that no matter how interesting an idea is, it's the overall execution of the story material that matters, not just the technical aspect. Not recommended.
