Quotes
-
[Roy E. Disney is sitting at a table talking to Don Hall and Francis Glebas]
AniMat : The one who first thought about the piece was actually not from any of the film making team.
[a hand taps a ruler on the table to get the attention of the three men. The camera pans left to reveal it was Michael Eisner]
AniMat : But rather, it was Michael Eisner, who got the idea after attending his son's graduation.
[Eisner takes a photo out and looks at it proudly. Said photo is of him and his wife and son at the latter's graduation ceremony, both of whom have his face]
AniMat : Since the piece is known by many as a staple for those ceremonies.
[Eisner puts the picture away]
AniMat : As for what would represented visually,
[Eisner starts mouthing to what AniMat is saying]
AniMat : Eisner thought about presenting a large wedding
[scene fades into Eisner's senecio]
AniMat : featuring all the Disney Princesses with their lovers, each carrying their future children as they say their "I do's".
[fade back to Eisner giving the men a "what do you think" look]
AniMat : For the animators, this was absolutely horrifying!
[cut to three men where Disney is wide eyed, Hall is confused, and Glebas is jaw dropped. Disney stands up, puts his hands together, takes a deep, gives Eisner the stink eye, and starts mouthing to what AniMat is saying]
AniMat : Because not only would it look like the characters were apart of some freaky religious cult ritual, but also;
[cut to Philip carry Aurora to a bed]
AniMat : if Disney presented all Princesses pregnant next ro their true loves,
[Philip unties his cape and drapes it over the Owl, the sits on the bed where Aurora rubs his arm affectionately]
AniMat : then it would lead the audience to think about the process how they were um... uh... well uh... how can I put this: GETTING KNOCKED UP!
[Aurora and Philip start making out. Cut to outside the castle where fireworks are in the background]
Singer : We did more than just kiss/It's clear he didn't miss
[cut back to Eisner and Disney with a record scratch]
Roy E. Disney : Also, just a reminder, most of the Disney Princesses are below the age of 18.
[Eisner's face shrinks in horror. Once his face returns to normal and starts waving his hands]
AniMat : Ultimately, Michael agreed to scrap it, but still really wanted them to use the piece.
[cut back to the scenario, Snow White and Cinderella's pregnancies disappear]
Snow White : [gasp] Oh my!
[cut to Aurora and Ariel. The former's pregnancy disappears, but the latter's doesn't]
Aurora : Uh... Ariel?
Ariel : Yeah... it's too late from our end, unfortunately.
[Cut to an ad for The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea]
Movie Announcer : Coming soon to own on video and Disney DVD. Good luck with this one, parents.
