To celebrate the Lunar New Year, also known as Chinese New Year, the official Pokémon YouTube channel released an adorable animated short from Chinese animation studio Hanmu Chunhua (Hmch) and director DaiWei, both known for their work on the donghua series All Saints Street . The short, named “Tadaima (I’m Home)” follows a group of people coming home for the holiday with their partner Pokémon. Director DaiWei said in a comment that he has “loved Pokemon since [he] was little” and “never thought that [he] would be able to create an animation about Pokémon.” He said that put all of his favorite Pokémon in the short with the whole studio putting all their effort into creating the animation.
