Summaries

  • Facing a big decision about Vince's career, the boys head out of town to contemplate their next move. Lloyd must back Ari at a crucial time.

Synopsis

  • Vince is debating over whether to take the big studio picture Benji (which was offered to Vince by Steve Parles), a children's film Benji, for $3 million. Ari wants Vince to do the movie for the money. Just then their Aston Martins are repossessed as Vince and the guys have not paid the bills. Steve Parle wants an answer by Monday, after the upcoming weekend. Vince goes with the guys and Ari in search of clarity and guidance in the arid expanse of Joshua Tree National Park, with Psilocybin mushrooms and their friend Eric Roberts (who had supplied the mushrooms). They all loan into Roberts' Winnebago and head to their National Park. Meanwhile Alan Gray will not forgive Vince (for refusing to sign Aquaman 2), & refuses to listen to Ari to take Vince on Smokejumpers. Alan says that no amount of punishment is enough for Vince who refused Aquaman 2 to his face.

Lloyd (Rex Lee) agrees to watch Ari's house while Mrs. Ari and the kids are away, but Lloyd and his boyfriend Tom use Ari's house to throw a gay party (They had already planned the party at Lloyd's house when Ari called and asked Lloyd to watch his house, so they shifted the party to Ari's place). Melissa doesn't know that Ari has decided to go away for the weekend and leave the house with Lloyd. Ari has a bad reaction to the mushrooms and gets lost at Joshua Tree. Mrs Ari decides to come home the same night (while Lloyd is having the party at Ari's house), because Ari's son Joshua is throwing a fit about going back home. Ari has to bribe his toddler son $100 & a transformer to stay where they are and to get his mother to postpone her arrival by a day. Ari had to climb a cliff to find mobile signal and is now lost and separated from the group. Meanwhile the mushrooms start to take effect.

The boys get tripped together. Turtle's dog Arnold gets lost, and Vince thinks that a sign that he should or shouldn't do Benji. Vince asks E to keep a list of all the possible signs they see that weekend. E's mouth wont talk and he can only communicate by writing stuff down. Vince admits that he wants to do Smokejumpers as E found a great script. And everyone should know that E looks out for Vince. The group wanders around for hours looking for Arnold & Ari. Arnold finds Ari, Ari finds Benji and they find Vince. That's Vince's logic to do Benji. Mrs Ari calls at 2 AM to tell him that she's home, he is not (like he was supposed to), and there are 25 men frolicking naked in their pool.

But eventually, on the way back, Vince uses his hallucinogenic experience to make another major career choice. There is an accident on the interstate and a car on fire and Vince hallucinates as one of the firemen being himself. Now he knows he must do Smokejumpers. He asks Ari to make it happen.
