Great movie
bdonnelly22 October 2008
Firstly, in the leading half hour I felt like I was watching a student film with some semi-amateur lighting and a bit uneasy cutting, but after the first half hour of setting up the characters the style of editing and jump cuts really suited the film. More then anything the dialogue was amazing, very witty and the delivery was quite realistic. The way the friends sat together and the film intercut between each group of two friends in different areas of the same house was very smart and the fun dialogue really redeemed the film after what i found to be a bit of a weak opening.

This is a great independent film and I wish Canada made more films like this (or more films in general). I work in the film industry and the problem is that Canadian producers don't take enough chances on films. Come on, let's make some good movies, we do have talent and as you can see we have more and more good actors coming out of country that we should be using in our films as well...

Gets better the more times you watch it.

I great movies with real characters, best friends last forever. It has to be watched at least twice to be fully appreciated. Jack is a savvy character that has gone though a rough couple of years. He lost he best friend to a job in Vancouver and soon realizes that lye's run deep. Death, love and friendship play a huge roll in this movie that envelopes you with its quirky style. Each character is uniquely different and everyone who watches this movie will have at least one trait to represent with. It is filmed in a backwards style hence at least watching it twice is a must. It is at first confusing because the audience is not given details of the characters lives but rather has to figure them out as the movie progresses.

Enjoy, I did...

This movie is surprisingly good! An entering careerhood film featuring a young, fun loving, earnest bunch who come together over a weekend due to a friends misfortune. This film has good dialogue and presents realistic portraits of young people who have recently finished university and are preparing for careers. It reminded me of my young adulthood, and as a father with 2 sons just recently graduated from University, a reminder of their current situations. My only complaint is the lack of colour in the film but as a Canadian film set in Canada, it is not as uncommon as it may be in America. Americans will like this movie but be forewarned, there are no guns in this film. In fact I can't remember seeing a smart phone either!
