Story of a high school baseball powerhouse in Yokohama. The movie depicts the internal competition and friendship among the members, and the role of the "backups" or "bench warmers" who would never set their foot on the field.
And it also shows that only through hardships of rigorous training, one can accomplish their goals. Unlike "overnight hero" movies like "Rookies", this film is much more realistic, showing the limits in one's capability. It also didn't glorify high school baseball like many other films by showing them smoking etc.
I enjoyed this movie because while not everyone can be a star, they have a role to accomplish. It's nice to see a baseball story from another perspective.
