Dominic Cooper in The Devil's Double (2011)

Goofs

The Devil's Double

Edit

Continuity

In the club, Latif's tie knot is tight, then loose, then tight again, before Sarrab loosens it.
In the scene in which Latif's convoy of 3 black Mercedes arrive at a checkpoint (59:00min), bullet holes in the windscreen of the last car in the convey can be seen though its rear window, and can be seen again as the car leaves the checkpoint (59:15min). These holes are not apparent in other shots and it is only later in this scene that the cars come under attack, causing the windscreens to be shot out.

Factual errors

In a lot of car scenes the driver is on the right side, but in Iraq the driver seat is on the left.
Uday kills Kamel Hana Gegeo his father's personal bodyguard at a party celebrating the 1990 Kuwait invasion. In fact Gegeo was killed two years prior on October 1988 at a party honoring Suzanne Mubarak.
(at around 34 mins) When the Kuwaiti delegation arrives at the palace the Kuwaiti people arrived wearing the traditional male Arab dress wrongly. They are supposed to keep the "Ghutra" (head cloth) underneath the "Besht" (cloak) not the other way around .
When Latif arrives in Malta, the camera pans across the harbour of Valletta with a large cargo ship entering. Behind the cargo ship is sail yacht Maltese Falcon, easily visible. This yacht was built in 2006. Just around the corner from Maltese Falcon is another large motor yacht of a similar age.
Like the vast majority of the world, Iraq drives on the right hand side of the road, so most vehicles have steering wheels on the left side. Although, as in most countries there are vehicles with steering wheels placed on the opposite side of the vehicle that's usual for driving in that nation, every driving scene in the movie showed right-steer vehicles driving on the left side of the road.

Miscellaneous

When Uday arrives at the hospital looking for Latif, he shouts at the doctor and his dentures become loose.

Character error

In the scene when Uday Hussein (Dominic Cooper) comes in to confrontation with Yahia Latif (Dominic Cooper) in front of the 14-year old deceased girl's father, Yahia's British accent was evident.
