The "White Ribbons" and "Anti-Saloon Leagues" may well profit by the ruse planned by a little rural wife. The corner saloon held the nightly attention of three bibulous friends, to the utter disgust and anger of the wives. At length, their patience exhausted, they meet to devise a method of reform. One of them fortunately recalls the visionary reptiles that usually surround those who over-indulge in strong drink; coincidentally she knows a dealer in stuffed snakes. The action of the women is prompt, and surprising are the results. Their recreant husbands fall easy prey to the illusions, in several amusing situations. The reform is far reaching, in that it brings the entire village, including two backsliding deacons and the entire police force into the fold.
