Learn more- Just five couples remained, but that number would be trimmed yet again after another hour-long results show on "Dancing with the Stars."
This 60 minutes of filler, which followed an hour-long recap of Monday night's episode, would include a performance from country singer Brad Paisley, a group dance that fans voted on, a performance from pro Lacey Schwimmer and her brother Benji, and a psychoanalysis of each remaining couple from Dr. Drew Pinsky.
First, though, we got a peek at the judges' post-show briefing on each of the couples. The highlights: Carrie Ann Inaba pointed out that Cody Linley was "resilient" and said she hoped he'd stay until his original partner Julianne Hough returned. Len Goodman held firm on Brooke Burke disappointing him with her footwork. Carrie Ann appreciated that Maurice Greene had been beaten down by the process but began rebuilding himself Monday. Len said Lance Bass was gradually winning him over because of his enthusiasm. Carrie Ann said Warren Sapp's routine was "so magical."
Play it again: Len called for Warren and his partner Kym Johnson to offer up their tango for a second time.
Be our guest: Brad Paisley performed his single, "Ticks," while the Schwimmers danced. Paisley returned a bit later to perform "Let the Good Times Roll" with some of the professional dancers from the live tour.
To the results: The first couple sent to safety was Warren & Kym, and joining them were Lance & Lacey.
The doctor is in: Dr. Drew, who you might know is a board-certified physician and addition-medicine specialist -- played the role of couples expert and sat down with each of the couples to see where their collective heads were at as they approached the finals.
Lance & Lacey: After having their first fight, Lance & Lacey talks through some issues with Lance's lack of self-confidence. Dr. Drew said they needed to let each other have their feelings and let that be OK.
Warren & Kym: Warren talked about how he didn't feel pressure the way he did in the NFL. Dr. Drew acknowledged Warren's busy schedule, which could make winning a burden.
Maurice & Cheryl: Maurice said Cheryl gets frustrated with him because he doesn't communicate with her. He said he gets in trouble when he over thinks his dances.
Brooke & Derek: Brooke and Derek relived with Dr. Drew the moment when they hit her boiling point. Derek talked about his "tough love" approach, which Brooke said sometimes leads to "insults and disrespect." Dr. Drew told Brooke to be clearer with Derek about where that line is.
Cody & Julianne: Cody talked about his roller coaster of emotions and he became emotional while talking about Julianne's goodness and ability to bring out the best in him. Julianne said what she loves most about the competition is the friendships that are made, and she told Cody he should never feel alone.
Julianne's back! Julianne Hough joined her brother Derek for the dance chosen by the fans, a high-energy jive that made one wonder how her performance was possible considering she had surgery just two weeks ago.
Back to the results: The next couple sent to safety, in no particular order, was Brooke & Derek. That meant Maurice & Cheryl, along with Cody & Edyta, were still in jeopardy.
After another commercial break, host Tom Bergeron revealed that Maurice & Cheryl were going home.
