Tom Frederic and Janet Montgomery in Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead (2009)

Goofs

Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead

Edit

Continuity

After the bus crash, when the prisoners are under attack, Chavez fires multiple shots from a pump action shotgun without pumping it.
When the bus is attacked by Three Finger you see barbed wire wrap around the front left wheel followed by the sound of a blow-out. A moment later when the bus is going off the road (in slow motion so it's very clear), you see that the wheel is perfectly fine.
When the bus starts out, as Walter and Nate talk, you see through the front window that the bus approaches a right bend and passes an over-hanging tree on the left. About 30 seconds later, the same bend and tree are shown through the window.
In the scene where 3 Finger is trying to run the prison bus off the road when the camera angle changes his truck is gone and then it cuts and his truck is back in the scene again.
When the prison bus's tire is popped by the wire from the truck, it starts swerving out of control. At one point the bus hits a railing on the side of the road but then it quickly switches to another scene, and there is no railing on the side of the road. Then the next scene the railing is back.

Factual errors

The shotgun is fired ~ 20 times without reloading.
If all of that money had actually been in the armored truck for over 50 years, it would have been mildewed and rotted from the humidity and heat. Not looking like they were brand new bills.
The prison bus, having caught fire, eventually exploded. Diesel fuel is not explosive.
When the killer drops the spear from a tree to kill a police officer, it impales him, but that would require a lot more force than just dropping it.
It would be way harder to open open one's head like the killer did to Chavez and it would require tools and not just an ax.

Revealing mistakes

Sophie is breathing while being dead.
The film is supposed to be set in West Virginia but the road center stripe is white. The USA hasn't used white center striping since the mid 70s, after the rules changed in 1972. Most of the legacy striping was changed between 1972 and 1975, and even the most remote roads were done by the late 1980s.
When bus falls down, clearly nobody is inside.
When dog bites Chavez, his sleeve is thicker to avoid being hurt by dog.
When killer throws Nate in the house during the fight, it's obvious that jump couldn't be made with him allowing it.

Miscellaneous

When the cannibal throws the Molotov cocktail at Floyd's feet, Floyd's clothing implausibly ignites. It would have needed accelerant on his clothing for it to burn so readily.
When they are leaving the raft, Alex picks up the heavy money bags as though they had no weight.
When Nate and Walter are on the burning bus and the camera is showing the bus from the outside (about 25-26 min in different cut or frame rate), you can see the right quarter of the frame shift up and down as if it were part of a widescreen frame moved closer to the center.

Anachronisms

When the bank truck is stumbled upon, Nate is asked how old the truck is and says that it was there since the 1950s. Later, when Crawford holds up some one-hundred dollar bill, you can see they are the modern style bills that were released starting in 1996.
When Floyd falls dead there are implausible flames across a wide area.
After Nate and Alex escape from the cannibal's cabin and up to and including the burning of the truck, there are implausible combinations of headlight/fog lights on/off.

Plot holes

Why wouldn't Chavez, a ruthless criminal, kill Brandon when he knocked him out after he betrayed him. It doesn't make any sense to leave him alive from his perspective.
When the police officers all meet in the station before trying to find the prisoners the chief states that there is someone out missing (implying Nate) with others.

-- This is incorrect and not a plot hole, please see explanation --
The prisoners cut off the legs of the corpse near the knee and carry these legs with them, tied to chains. Although it was enough to cut off only the feet and release the chains.
