Goodbye Raiders
This was the boycott game that we the fans looked forward to in order to vent our frustration of the Raiders moving to Los Angeles. We boycotted the first 15 minutes of the game. We all stood in the hallways where the vendors were and out of sight of MNF cameras behind the stands. What were we boycotting you might ask? We were boycotting the decision of Al Davis to move the Raiders to Los Angeles. I vividly remember before the game thousands of us standing outside the stadium as Al Davis drove up in his limo with a police escort. We yelled and screamed at Mr Davis to not move the Raiders. The rest is history. Oh yea, he came back to Oakland. Another of Mr. Davis's poor decisions. The producers of the game would not allow the cameras to pan the empty seats of the stadium. There were some fans out there, but the majority of the fans were behind the stands. This is the last Raider game I have attended. It has never been the same since. This Monday Night Game is indicative of the drama that seems to surround all MNF games. The Raiders back then never lost these games and always had a packed stadium. Oh how times have changed. This piece of history seems to have been overlooked or forgotten by everyone.
