Jack Has Daddy Issues?
g-bodyl23 December 2014
This is the twentieth episode of the third season of 30 Rock and for the most part, it's a decent episode. It's funny enough, but not all the subplots are consistently strong. I liked Jack's subplot, but Liz's subplot needed s little more oomph. Elaine Stritch makes another welcome appearance as Jack's mother and Steve Buscemi also makes a small appearance as Jack's private investigator.

In this episode, "The Natural Order," Tracy gets mad over his treatment and he demands equal treatment from Liz, much to her displeasure. Meanwhile Jenna befriends a gibbon much to Kenneth's horror and Jack learns the truth about his biological father.

Overall, this is a solid episode even if it isn't the strongest. I loved Jack's subplot and he may have some daddy issues after all, which is quite funny. The rivalry between Liz and Tracy is an interesting idea, but it could have been a tad better. I rate this episode 8/10.

The Natural Order has some touching scenes in addition to the usual laughs for "30 Rock"

Warning: Spoilers
With my review on this, I now have two episodes to go before the season premiere of "30 Rock". Despite the "TGS" crew lying about when rehearsal is scheduled and Kenneth changing the times on his clock, Tracy still arrives late. He admonishes them and calls them racists ending with him giving Liz an actual race card. Liz tells him if he wants to treated as an equal, learn your lines and arrive on time. He does just that, then makes Liz get him some water which she attempts by spilling much of the large bottle contents on the floor. Meanwhile, Jack finds out his mother is going out with a man near her age. So he gets Lenny to find some dirt on him. Turns out he's married which Colleen knows about. Jack also finds out that he was conceived before an earlier period when his father came back after being gone for three years so he now has a different dad. Oh, and Jenna bonds with a Gibbon monkey after Tracy makes a point when he previously left him in place during rehearsals...This was another very funny episode of "30 Rock" with Kenneth especially good when mentioning some pigs and a nut sack (something he uses from his belt when feeding squirrels). And that was a touching scene between Jack and his mother near the end. Oh, and Jonathan is back! Okay, like I said, only two more to go before the season premiere...

Who's your daddy?

Warning: Spoilers
I chuckled with Jack's reference to Florida as America's Australia. The writing on 30 Rock is sharp big time, and the big twist is that Jack's daddy is a mystery. Who could it be?

It's easy to forget that 30 Rock and Aaron Sorkin's Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip debuted on NBC at the same time. Conventional wisdom was that Sorkin's powerhouse series be the one that would survive the first season, with 30 Rock being a one season wonder. But history has proved otherwise.

The Natural Order (#3.20)
ComedyFan20102 December 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Jack has problems with his mother's new boyfriend and finds out that he is married. Liz tells Tracy that he will now be treated like an equal and in return he decides to treat her as an equal as well. And Jenna becomes friends with a cute little monkey.

Not one of the best. The whole Liz and Tracy storyline is stupid. Liz not liking strip clubs and not being able to switch the bottle is not about her being a woman. Please.

The story with the monkey was pretty boring as well although the monkey was very cute.

And the story about Jack's mom's boyfriend wasn't that interesting, although I loved the scene they had at the end.
