First appearance of Francine's cat Nemo (whom she names after adoption), and the only time he and Pal are friends, despite Arthur's negative perception of their actions. From Season 4 and onwards, Nemo has a different design and a more hostile personality.
This episode marks Nemo's debut and how Francine and her family adopted Nemo (whom she names) after her father Oliver found him as an alley cat wandering around the landfill. Nemo would get a makeover by Season 4 and subsequent seasons. This is the only episode where he and Arthur's dog Pal are friends, which Arthur shows a distaste for cats and misinterprets Nemo's playful antics as attempts to kill Pal while at the expense of the friendship between Arthur and Francine. In later episodes, Nemo is portrayed as being hostile and aggressive to Pal and even his owner Arthur.
This is the first episode where animal hoarding is shown, but only in Arthur's imagination on whether or not if Francine will get anymore cats besides just Nemo whom her family adopted.
