This short film presents a tension between two characters, well played by the actors (no surprise, as Flávio Bauraqui is always excellent): employer and employee are not as friends as assumed, agreements were not as serious as considered, expectations of both were not the same, and the one who decides is not the one who planned a whole life on that land. The owner of the farm, who knew nothing about the work there, never put that loyal black servant in the core of his concerns, and until the very end he thought he was a low-cost commodity. That background, a heritage of slavery past, sustained over by beautiful cinematography and skilled acting and direction, could have had an even better outcome. However, script is perhaps too minimalist, and a longer length with more events would be desirable for a more encompassing development.
