Worthy of a cinema release
femoman14 June 2009
Warning: Spoilers
I had known about this film being in production since 2007, when it was originally supposed to come out. It has been several years in the making, and I ave been waiting for along time, but now, I finally have seen it........wow, it was sooo Worth the wait!

The opening sequence is chilling and epic, the first scenes are awesome and reminiscent of a rabid-zombie-chase scene, the way that we never actually find out what this scam that went badly wrong, actually is, is great and leaves it to the viewers' imagination. The later scenes, of the Eds wandering through deserts, fields, woods and areas they have never been to, such as the Gag-factory and the highway, bring a sense of epicness and mystery to the film. Several of the show's biggest secrets are revealed in the film, such as who it is that Nazz has a crush on (We never truly find out, but it is pretty obviously Kevin), who Eddy's brother looks like, but the matter of the mystery beneath Edd's hat still remains a mystery, which I think is a good thing. If they had revealed it, it would have been either completely ridiculous, or not live up to the hype. The final scene is the only thing I can find negative about it. The whole scene itself works well, but it all seems a bit rushed. In a matter of about 10-15 minutes, we meet Eddy's brother, find out he is a jerk, everyone stands up to him, beats him, we find out that everything Eddy told us about him was a lie, and the Eds being finally accepted. If the climax was about 30 minutes, it would have worked no problem. Curse the CN movie time limits! The humour is as brilliant as ever. The fan-girls get to see even more of Edd's dark side and see Eddy break down and dissolve into tears. Ed-fans get to see him up to his dopey mischief again. Oh, and Johnny fans get to see him and Plank back as Captain Melonhead and Splinter the Wonderwood!

All in all, I think this movie is worthy of a cinema release (Imagine seeing that car-chase scene on the big screen)! Or, at the very least, a DVD release. I hope that CN sees just how popular the movie is, and gives the fans what they want, a DVD release.

If you loved the series...
aids-198 June 2009
I was a huge "Ed, Edd n Eddy" fan when I was younger. Now I'm much older and beyond these types of cartoon. But I still had to check out this movie for the nostalgia. I loved the show when I was younger, and enjoyed the movie quite a bit.

All the typical zaniness that you'd expect from the Eds and had seen in the television series, plus more, is present in the movie and very reasonably so.

The only thing I can really complain about was the ending, which I won't reveal. I think it seemed a bit rushed. Even though it's a cartoon, I see it as unrealistic, even in the AKA-Cartooniverse. The majority of people I have talked to about the movie saw no problem with it, though, so maybe I'm just too bitter.

Overall It was a nice little 90 minute trip back to my childhood. If you loved the series, you need to see this movie.

Quite Possibly the Best TV Animated Special, Period.
patboldt22 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This "Big Picture Show" is one of the best finales for anything....ever! The opening 20 minutes quite possibly is one of the best pieces of animation in Cartoon Network history with slow build up and huge payoff. That's not to say that the rest of the movie isn't good, it is, but the opening 20 minutes is just phenomenal. The actual animation itself, the tension, and the writing are just perfect. If it carried that for the entirety of the movie, I would easily give this 10 stars, maybe even 11. That being said, the movie itself is quite good for Ed Edd n Eddy and feels like a loving homage to fans of this cartoon and a passion project like the modern Samurai Jack reboot.

For a comedy cartoon like this, I never expected it to get emotional and deep, nor did I expect it to get dark. And this is for a series which has a creepy theory that everybody is dead and in purgatory! The main trio are the stars in this story and every second they have on screen is just golden from the moment they are introduced to the encounter with Eddy's brother. The problem is that the movie spends a lot of time on the side characters. Of them, only Rolf, Johnny, Sarah, and Jimmy are actually interesting. The whole thing with Kevin and the whole bike subplot kinda comes out of nowhere and doesn't do anything exceptional and the Kanker sisters don't do that much despite having considerable screen time. Also some jokes don't really work, but they are pretty rare so it's not a major flaw.

What really makes the "Big Picture Show" amazing is that it has so much love put into it. This easily could have been a cheap gimmik to make some easy money but the creators really went out of their way to make this as amazing as possible. The sound editing and cartoon violence are the best parts of the animation (it feels like Tom and Jerry violence and it's so beautiful.) As for sound editing, every sound effect is just great and it's so satisfying to hear constant animal sounds, it makes everything seem chaotic which perfectly goes well with the tone and atmosphere. Overall I'd give the opening a 10/10 and the rest a solid 8 out of 10. This is wonderfully made and easily the best TV special ever made, at least for Cartoon Network.

Ed, Edd n Eddy Big Picture Show; Amongst All Other Movies Ever to Exist.
Prehistory9622 September 2010
The Great Ed, Edd n Eddy's Big Picture Show is literally Immense. The Greatest of All movies, and the last of their kind. No other movie will replace it not even shows of any channel will be able to compete with The Official Movie EVENT. The Ed, Edd n Eddy Big Picture Show is way more complex than any movie played on Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Disney Channel, or any other channel to the viewers. (Ed, Edd n Eddy's Big Picture Show)Respectively deserves more than a review. Last of The Cartoon Cartoons, Last of The Fridays Shows and know the last of their kind. Cow & Chicken, I Am Weasel, Scooby Doo, Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Laboratory, Tom & Jerry, The PowerPuff Girls, The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, Codename:Kids Next Door, Sameri Jack, Foster's Home for Imagenary Friends, Teen Titans, but only Ed, Edd n Eddy continued until the movie of which told it all. Absolutely no upcoming shows like Adventure Time & Generator Rex or The Regular Show. Ed, Edd n Eddy shall be missed and remember-ED.

Awesome movie, the humor and laughs we come to expect
bearfaceproductions17 July 2009
I thought that this wouldn't be good since I thought that Ed, Edd and Eddy wouldn't make a good movie, but I was wrong. I laughed so hard the jokes and humor of the Eds. Looks like the series ends here, but it ends in an awesome way that everybody, including the fans, will be really satisfied. The movie has a great plot and its and adventure that stays true to the series. The movie is worthy of being in cinemas, everybody of any age is willing to enjoy this masterpiece. I did not expect this movie to be so good, if your an Ed, Edd and Eddy fan, do not miss this great work of cartoon art. Cartoon Network should have stayed with this show, these kind of shows are the ones that keep cartoon network with high ratings. But without the Eds, Cartoon Network is sure to fall.

An excellent movie to end the classic series
kendodragon13 November 2009
Sometime after "Ed, Edd, n Eddy" came out in 1999, I immediately became a big fan of the show. I loved how all the characters had their own unique personality, the great story lines, and the hilarious humor that each episode had. And now in 2009, the movie entitled "Ed, Edd, n Eddy's Big Picture Show" comes out and it is bigger and funnier than any of the episodes that the series had to offer.

The story of the movie is about another scam that the Eds have come up with making a turn for the worse and now all of the kids of the Cul-De-Sac want to get revenge for what happened to them. The Eds come up with a solution that the only place that they will be safe at is where Eddy's brothers lives, so then they begin a journey to get there before the kids catch up with them.

Aside from the humor and great story, the movie also offers some good references from the show that really brings back the memories from the old episodes of the series. The animation and character development was pretty good as always and some scenes, such as action sequence during the beginning, were very well written and directed.

As for the ending, I won't spoil it for anyone but I will say this: it is an ending that the fans will very love. And although this movie marks the end of the series, it was great living the memories again.

Rating: **** out of ****

P.S. Stick around after the movie ends because there is an extra scene after the credits.

A Very Great Example of a Successful TV Movie
Benjamin_40625 June 2009
If certain theatrical films, like "the Lion King", "Finding Nemo", and "Kung Fu Panda", can be very successful and memorable in characterization and storytelling, then TV movies can be like that, too. And "Ed, Edd n Eddy's Big Picture Show" is one superb example.

Basically, the movie centers on the Eds searching for Eddy's brother after Eddy's latest scam backfires big time. (Only the Eds fans know exactly why the scam flops out - sort of.) And all the kids of the Cul-De-Sac have to track them down to avenge for themselves before those troublemakers can reach their destination. Aside from maniac animation and ultimate level of humor, there's one thing that hasn't been overlooked throughout the whole film: heart.

The story of "Ed, Edd n Eddy's Picture Show" has been split into many parts: the Eds, Kevin and Nazz, Jonny and Plank, Sarah and Jimmy (later merged with the Kanker Sisters and Wilbur), and Rolf and Wilbur. But unlike "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa", there's a sufficient amount of story for each set of characters - not too much nor too little. It's all because of the superb sense of direction of the movie. Even the film is almost well-structured, too. (The beginning is a perfect example!) And it seems that the creative artists of "Ed, Edd n Eddy" had managed to take the TV movie to "the place it has to be" big time.

So if you are looking for TV movies with superb comedy and heart, like "Escape from Cluster Prime" and "Rugrats: All Growed Up", then "Ed, Edd n Eddy's Big Picture Show" is one best example to see.

Not Great But Not Bad
zgamer-122 January 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Obviously only Ed, Edd n Eddy fans review this movie based on the scores. Do not get me wrong, I adore the first three or so seasons of the show a lot even now that I am older. Sadly, somewhere around the fourth season it took the goofy qualities too far and just kind of became obnoxious. Having just discovered the movie on Youtube today though, I thought I would try to be as objective in my opinion as possible for this finale. My opinion? Better than those last few seasons, but still lacking.

Some of my biggest complaints over the years has been the over exaggeration of the voice acting and the lack of genuine conversation and quieter moments. Sadly, they still persist here. Everyone talks by shouting their lungs out most of the time and I could hardly find a minute of the show that did not have people falling on or crashing into something. Sometimes it was humorous and sometimes it was just filler. The funniest bits were from the side jokes strewn about about the mayhem (my favorite was the dialogue used in a scene with a peanut). Do not give me the "but they always did goofy physical gags" argument because the early seasons actually had quite clever writing, character development and simplicity that made it rather smart. Even Ed's phrases were more clever and less random than here (usually they were word plays or bits that somewhat related to whatever was in the scene).

I will say that this definitely had a lot more plot than most of the last few seasons. After a clever intro credits and a ludicrous but entertaining car chase, the movie keeps the various threads moving at a consistent pace. Admittedly, sometimes the journeys are more fun than the results. The Ed's journey is overall entertaining to follow if a bit overwrought (could have used a bit more substance to the obligatory "friendship strained" bit). Rolf's plot had some potential, but kind of meandered about a lot of dumb gags to a non-ending. Jonny's plot was a serious waste of time and should have been integrated into Rolf's thread for some better character development (especially with the lame ending to his story). I enjoyed the bits with Sarah, Jimmy and the Kankers for what screen time they had. The best of the threads, however, involved Kevin and Nazz. At least here they were trying to do character development and it had some nice moments. All of these threads, however, suffer from just not having the heart of the first few seasons. The show is just trying to be goofy without simplicity, but at least here it is not trying to hide that anymore.

The best segment occurs at the very end with a surprise reveal of....Eddy's Brother! Although it feels a little short (if it had more to do with the plot, I could see it having a lot more heart and appeal), it added a different dimension to the story that actually made me care.

Big Picture Show is not the series at its finest, but for a finale it could have been a lot worse.

The TV movie, to end all TV movies.
MidoriFiore28 October 2010
Warning: Spoilers
As I write this review this movie has well deserved 8.9/10 score, an I can tell you this; It's a masterpiece.

The opening is extremely well done, and the story is well told. If you haven't see the series, check a couple of episode to get a hold of the characters, because this movie is just for the fans. It's almost all of every Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy-fans dreams come true. There is hilarious jokes, actual character development, something that's rare in cartoons. The creators know that we love these characters and they makes them deeper and even better.

The writing is very well done.

The voice acting is great as usual. There is a lot of great sequences, and a lot of references to older episodes of the series, the filmmakers take good care of the story the establishes through out the seasons.

Watch this movie and have very, very good laugh.

"I'm really starting to hate slapstick."
The movie is one long chase scene with subplots, side stories, side gags and an obnoxious amount of slapstick. The animation is like nothing ever seen on Cartoon Network, and there's a lot of energy and fluidity in it, but often the energy is too much. And yet there are moments I always come back to. The writing has some really clever moments and some good dramatic moments as well, even when the execution isn't quite right. It's like if Sally Cruikshank made Stand By Me. The movie as a whole lacks focus, but when it centers on the relationship between the Eds, it delivers. There's one great scene where Edd releases his pent up rage and calls out Eddy for being a shameless swindler, and Eddy calls out Edd for being a high-and-mighty hypocrite. Both characters, however, have their redeeming qualities. Edd is compassionate, and Eddy has a secret protective instinct and a desperate need to be liked. I was never an Ed fan, but as dumb as he is, he makes up for it with his massive heart. And Eddy's brother makes a big impression with only five minutes of screentime. Sneering and heavyset, he looks like a villain in a Bugs Bunny cartoon; he's a dead ringer for Nasty Canasta from 'Barbary Coast Bunny'. What makes him stand out from other Cartoon Network villains is that he's completely human. He's not a monster or a supervillain but a common bully. And he's all the more terrifying for it, especially to children. Antonucci gives a very good message about abuse, in this case domestic abuse, in Eddy's brother's entire scene. It's not the best TV movie I've seen. It's overly long, overly padded, overly frenetic... but has moments that really deliver. As with the series, of the Cartoon Network TV movies it's the best animation-wise. The characters have form and structure, and a strong sense of presence. This movie will stick with me for a long time. Most valuable player: Sam Vincent

Ed Edd n Eddys Big Picture Show deserves to be released on DVD!
thatshagman201315 September 2014
One of the best made for TV movies, it was full of surprises! I would like to watch this movie over and over again, but Ed Edd n Eddys Big Picture Show was sadly never released on DVD, it was the best way tp end the series, but im wondering why it was never released on DVD, it should, and Im doing everything I can to make it happen! It made me laugh so hard that milk came ou of my nose. It also shocked me when Eddys older brother was actually show, which really gave me a huge shock when I watched it. I really don't understand why it was never released on DVD. It was one of the best movies that Cartoonetwork made for TV, so who else thinks that Ed Edd n Eddys big picture show deserves to be on DVD?

Yet another disappointing movie adaptation
llVIU1 December 2018
This is yet another example that a company wanted to make a movie, and the big bosses thought that they need to throw lots of money in order to make it good. Overblown action sequences, over the top, everyone is shouting in my ears 24/7, moving around, having way too much energy, being violent and destroying anything that they touch (they put superman/hulk to shame with their superpowers) stuff moving around everywhere and it completely lacks the humor, originality, clever things and subliminal messages. It appeals to a very young audience of little kids with no brains and too much energy, unlike the original show that was more for middle age kids but could also be enjoyed by older audience. To give you numbers, 8-16 year olds for the tv show, but 4-10 year olds for the movie adaptation.

The best.
agenttortilla8 December 2010
This film is my favorite. Love the film. If this comes out on DVD and Blu-ray, the rating should be PG. I love the TV show too. Best film of all time. Danny Antonucci is the best TV show creator ever. Mr. Antonucci, if you are reading this, spin off alert. I have an idea of a spin off film for Captain Melonhead and Splinter the Wonderwood. The name would be "The Adventures of Captain Melonhead." Also "Ed Edd n Eddy's Big Picture Show 3-D." If you like my idea e-mail me at my e-mail address, agenttortilla@yahoo.com. Any other people besides him and IMDb, leave me alone. Also, IMDb, a film this superb should have a preview on this sight.

The best animated movie ever
leonard2279126 February 2010
Warning: Spoilers
I was waiting years for an Ed Edd n Eddy movie. The beginning was almost heart pounding, especially since it was like the wildest car-chase I have ever seen. The heroes where on the run in a car, Flintstones-style, being chased by a foreigner on a pig, a jock on a bike, a cheerleader on roller skates, and a skitzophrinick who talks to a plank of wood. The ending was, in my opinion, perfect for the series, and the revelation of Eddy's brother, was no surprise to me, because the series did hint about his true colors. Can't wait for it to come out on DVD. This is what I think the summary on the back wold be. "From director Danny Antonnucci, comes a motion picture event of 'Ed'-normous proportions. Eddy has come up with his most ambitious scam ever. But it has gone horribly wrong, now Eddy, and his friends Ed and Edd (Double D) must turn to the one man who can help them: Eddy's Brother. But the kids have learned where they're heading and follow them. The Kanker follow suit, determined to save their 'Boyfreinds'. The 'Ed'-pic conclusion of Cartoon Network's critically acclaimed series, filled with laughs, sorrow, an action-pack car chase, and the shocking revelation of Eddy's Brother."

The Last of the Cartoon Cartoons has come to an end.
mechg299421 July 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Watching Ed, Edd n Eddy for a very long time was quite an honor for me. I remember having Cartoon Network back in 1999 and never watched this since 2000. My goodness it has all ended with a bang.

So the movie is about Eddy's scam gone wrong and everybody from the cul-de-sac is chasing after the Eds who want to the living sh*t out them. After getting away, they seem to be in the middle of nowhere until Eddy finds out his brother's place is a sanctuary. Sometime, they find Eddy's brother's place in an amusement park in which the gang of the cul-de-sac and the Kanker sisters find them. Eddy's brother shows up and starts playing uncle with Eddy. Then everybody stood up to Eddy and somewhat rebelled against his brother. Then Eddy knocks him out with the trailer door and confesses that he just wanted attention. Then everybody just like started respecting the Eds.

All I can say is this movie was just a ride. Starts out with a long chase scene we have never seen in the show in our life and crazy stuff happens and Eddy's brother makes an exclusive appearance. So what now, GO WATCH IT! If you've been an Ed, Edd n Eddy fan for life.

All I can say is Thanks for the memories. It was the best ride Edder! Like what Double-D says: "It only took 130 episodes, 4 specials, and a movie."

1999-2009. F*ck CN nowadays they got rid of all their good shows.

All the trademark humor of Ed Edd Eddy packed into a 90 minute film
SkillsThatKills12 October 2009
The trademark humor of the Ed Edd and Eddy series is their incredibly elastic body parts, over-portrayal over-exaggerated simple ideas, and the ability to turn the most innocuous objects into sophisticated machines, and this film continues off of it. Basically the story revolves around the Eds trying to escape the wrath of the cul de sac kids after their latest scam unintentionally goes awry, leaving Kevin, Nazz, Rolfe, Johnny horribly mutilated. During this whole pursuit, each of the cul de sac kids run into humorous situations similar to the TV series and through these situations they really get a chance to learn about each other and the strength of their friendship. The film was well made; each character had a decent amount of development, there are happy and sad times for the Eds and the end of the movie is unlike anything you have ever seen in the TV series. This is highly recommended for all fans of Ed Edd Eddy.

It has a nice ending to it!
ShelbyTMItchell16 April 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Really glad that the show ended on a high note. The happy ending all three Eds deserved indeed! As they are on the run from the other kids, for a failed scam that blew up their beloved Cul De Sac as everybody is messed up badly. In order to run away and find Eddy's brother, we see each kid have some kind of development.

Jonny with his Melonhead persona, Nazz and Kevin developing into a would be relationship but Kevin loves his bike and Nazz deservedly slapped him for it. And dumps him it seems. But at least, Kevin redeems himself in the end. Sarah and Jimmy try to get away from the Kanker sisters who are trying to save the kids from beating up their "boyfriends" aka the Eds.

Rolf abusive to his pet pig who gets away from him. As he did not have much to do really. Except complain and run into stuff. As the Eds bicker about the failed scam with Double D aka Edd nearly breaking up with Eddy, who admits finally proclaiming responsibility.

Stop if you do not want to read the ending...HERE IS THE SPOILER! As they are on their journey to find his older brother, the three Eds bond a bit. As they find his older brother along with the other kids and Kankers "saving" them. We see his older brother unnamed but really he turns out to be an abusive bully.

At the carnival in which his brother runs and possibly owns. He takes great pleasure on beating up and torturing Eddy and plays a game of "uncle" as the other kids do not see his brother for the "cool" big brother he is.

It is up to Ed aka Lumpy for unhooking the door to his brother's trailer shaped like a teal whale to stop his brother's abuse as he falls to the floor and saves Eddy.

Eddy tearfully apologizes as he was just a misunderstood character and just wanted to fit in and made up all of these lies and scams to be accepted.

As the kids are looking to beat him up, they finally accept the Eds and accept their apology! As they throw Eddy up in the air! As the kids are accepting the Eds as friends, Johnny aka Melonhead comes to think he can "save the day" and tries to beat up on the Eds until the kids come to the Eds defense and beat up Johnny.

After they do, Kevin invites the kids to come to his house for jawbreakers. As the Eds are excited to finally be having that happy ending as Double D breaks the fourth wall and says it only took "133 episodes, four TV specials, and a movie to do so!" As they sing the Friendship song that they had in an earlier episode, Johnny lies beaten up and the now ex pig of Rolf eats Johnny's melon, the Kankers decide to give the not so tough big brother "mouth to mouth" as they close up his trailer.

Finally Ed fans will like this movie. Very touching but also shows that Eddy was just a person that was misunderstood and sad! End of the Cartoon Cartoon era for Cartoon Network! RIP 1990-2009!

RIP Ed, Edd, n' Eddy
williemanga15014 May 2014
Warning: Spoilers
What makes this show so popular? Energetic animation, colourful characters, slapstick. Is all that in the finale movie? Well, yes, but there is more to it than that. Apparently, a disastrous scam has wrecked the neighborhood, and the kids are trying to kill them. And I swear, that's how it begins. They decide now is the time to go visit Eddy's brother, whom Eddy mentioned several times throughout the series, in hope for protection. The subplots revolve around each of the Cul-De-Sac kids hunting down Ed, Edd n Eddy with the Kanker sisters protecting the latter. Like I said, the slapstick comedy, great animation and diverse characters are all present. What makes this movie really stand out is that they do something different with the characters. I'm not going to go through all the subplots, because it would take too long. I will say they take it to the next level. Rolf, my second-favorite character (Ed being my favorite) is plotting to "spit the Eds on his pitchfork." Yikes! Humorously enough, Kevin's bike is getting in the way of his relationship with Nazz. What I really like about this is that we learn a lot more about Eddy, the show's anti-hero, when Edd confronts him on his failed schemes. After... a "quicksand" prank, Edd yells at Eddy for his schemes that get him into trouble, resulting in an argument between them where Edd actually kicks Eddy onto his back, even deciding that he'd rather face the consequences for his involvement in Eddy's schemes than travel with him. The best part is where Eddy takes the blame for the disasters, and deep down, he thought he was a loser this whole time. Edd forgives him and the trio decide to continue looking after one another. The Kankers eventually capture the rest of the kids and all characters get to Eddy's brother's place. He seems cool at first, but we ultimately see him for what he is, a monstrosity of sadism. He tortures Eddy and everyone else, even the Cul-De-Sac kids stand up for him. Ed saves Eddy by making a door hit him. We finally see that Eddy was influenced by his brother, but just wanted to be liked by the other kids. Touched by this confession, the kids cheer for Eddy except Johnny, who attacks them, still thinking they're causing trouble. He's attacked by the rest of the kids. Finally making friends, the titular trio are even invited by Kevin to enjoy some jawbreakers. If Ed, Edd n Eddy is the perfect nostalgic modern show, then this movie is the perfect way to end it. I don't think there could have been a better note to end on. Oh, and Johnny becomes evil. So there's that. Perfect 10

The best possible finale for this series, or any like it
carlyk-6438613 March 2021
My thoughts here come with a backstory: I was not a *huge* fan of EEnE as a child. In fact, Eddy probably ranked among my least favorite characters in any show, for being a greedy punk and getting his friends in trouble. That said, I looked back on the show with the same vague nostalgia I had for most Cartoon Network shows of its era.

In high school, I found out this movie existed and decided to watch it online. It led me to rewatch, and rethink, the entire series. The Big Picture Show finds the bigger story rooted in an episodic slapstick comedy and runs with it. While funny, it hits more emotional beats than you'd expect for a show like this- and ones that other series finales can only dream of. It recontextualizes Eddy's character throughout previous seasons in a very sympathetic, tragic light, and let me appreciate many of the other characters beyond the often one-note role they played in episodes. It's been 7 years since I watched this film, and there are still scenes from it I think about sometimes. If you haven't watched the Big Picture Show, I can't recommend it enough. It's one thing to be nostalgic; it's another to make you rethink nostalgia.

One of the best TV movies I have ever seen
evanboy1222 December 2009
Warning: Spoilers
This is an example of a terrific movie, TV or otherwise. I have never been drawn into a movie like this, and the animation is beyond anything I would've have expected from an animated movie. It has a great plot, and the writing is terrific. The only reason that I don't give it a 10, is because of the ending. Nothing that happened in the series or the beginning of the movie set up the ending they decided to put in. It completely changes things, which is crazy, even for the end of the series. But even then, this is one of the best animated movies I've ever seen. And if you find the smallest amount of pleasure from watching the series, you will not want to miss this.

I grew up watching "Ed, Edd n' Eddy" all the time and now at 19, I still love the show! This film was a fantastic finale to the series. It didn't feel like a stretched-out episode of the show; it really felt like a big-time adventure.

The story was very eventful with the Eds having done the most unforgivable scam. The kids of the cul de sac are looking to get their vengeance, and the Eds are traveling to find where Eddy's brother lives for protection. They need to make it there before the kids catch them.

The opening chase scene was really exciting and established that what the Eds did was really horrible. I love that they left it to our imagination what exactly they did.

With the many far away places the Eds travel to, the film has a great sense of adventure. You were really with them the entire time while they are putting together the pieces of the puzzle of the whereabouts of Eddy's brother.

There are many fantastic components that really make this a fitting way to wrap up the series. The scene where Eddy and Double D have a big fight but Eddy then admits that he screwed up is genuinely touching. It was awesome to finally meet Eddy's brother and to learn that everything Eddy told was a lie. I also loved that after Eddy's confession, the Eds finally won the love and respect of the kids of the cul de sac.

Needless to say, this film also has the same laugh-out-loud humor to which fans of the series have become accustomed.

The film ties together everything about the series and wraps it all up perfectly. This is a must-watch for all "Ed, Edd, n' Eddy" fans!

RATING: A+

Was it worth it?

Warning: Spoilers
I remember seeing an early episode of "Ed, Edd 'N Eddy" and thinking it was just dumb. I saw about two or three later episodes and admitted that it wasn't bad for me. It just wasn't my thing. I kept hearing about this movie on TVTropes. They even included it in their drinking game where someone mentioned we should take a sip every time we see it mentioned. I did see it and it was about as wonderful as I thought it was. This movie was so good I would recommend it to people who aren't fans of the show. In fact, from what I heard this movie was actually BETTER than the show. I mean, it was certainly better than the couple of episodes I did see.

I thought maybe it would be boring until the finale everyone talks about, but it certainly wasn't. I thought maybe the whole thing would be told in a flashback, but we never do find out the implications of the scheme that made everybody angrier than they already have been. Maybe it's just as well. I know enough about the show to understand the basic concept and I know most of the characters' names and everything. I mean, it was advertised on Cartoon Network all the time which I always watched. Does this mean I'm going to go back and watch the show? Hmmm, maybe. I'm just as satisfied telling people about this great movie.

What's so wonderful is that we get to see a lot of time devoted to each of the individual characters. It's great to just see how they exist in their own world and of course how they affect all each other in the end. This movie had tons of great slapstick. There were so many great gags going on all the time. Well, they actually make fun of the actual use of slapstick. Eddy explicitly mentions it by name. I admit some of the animation could be better and the close ups can be annoying. It's still great all the way through chock full of adventure that the show never had.

There's even a setup for a sequel at the very end! It features Jonny possibly becoming a new villain in the series, but then he's told the movie's over. That was a fantastic way to end the series and I couldn't have thought of a better one. I really do think this did a better job than "Gravity Falls". It resolved more story and hey, Eddy even got a kiss from Nazz! If only Dipper had a better love life. Yep, that's my avatar! I recognized the voice of one of the Kanker sisters. Having not watched most of the show, I knew it sounded familiar. I then realized it was someone from "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic". Then I finally realized it was Trixie's voice! Great to see how this voice actress started out.

There's a really popular theory going around that Ed, Edd 'N Eddy takes place in Purgatory. That's why adults never appeared or something. Well, this movie actually does feature adults for the first (and only) time in the whole series. We see the lower parts of their bodies when Johnny is on the bus. So has this theory been disproven? If not, then I love the idea that the Edds and the other kids at the Cul-De-Sac have finally ascended to Heaven, having learned their lesson of unity after all this time.

I just wish I could have seen them with the actual Jawbreakers in their mouths! Well, it's said they do get them at least. It wasn't a distant finale, but it still answered every question we wanted answered. Maybe it's just because Donald Trump became President that I feel like we're in a new age. At least we have something as good as this to look back on. A pity nearly all animated movies are CGI as I really do suspect this would do well in theaters. I especially love the first two minutes, where it's nothing but silence and no music while the sign is brought up. It perfectly sets up the movie. So as Edd himself says, it took them 130 episodes to finally get what they wanted.

It was worth it. ****

Watch the whole series and then watch this. You won't regret. If you're exactly like me.

The best Swansong that this series could have asked for. Seriously, Ed, Edd and Eddy is one of those Cartoons that were emblematic of my childhood and anyone with fond memories of it as a child should which this picture even if they have outgrown the show.

Taking us outside the infamous cul-de-sac, if the show had been a bit more relevant in 2009 it could so have been a theatrical feature. There is an artistic competence here that one doesn't really expect (or need) in these movies. The opening sequence with the title cards.... rarely do I begin a movie with such a distinct sense of dread. I mean it.

The landscapes and backgrounds give a powerful sense of grandness on this Odyssey to safety that tests friendships just when the stakes are highest. I suppose the stakes aren't that much higher than getting beat up, but it's a bunch of pre-teens away from home, anything could happen.

All the things that annoyed me a little about the show are addressed. They made this for the fans and it's perfect for what it is.
