- Matt has worries about cancer, Max gets publicity for his protest against company logos on sports strips, and Lisa and Tracy's dispute over Tom flares up into a fight.
- Darren's parents wake up to find him missing and Amelia gone, and are faced with the dilemma of whether to call the police or not. Max stages a protest against the corruption of his PE strip design by the addition of logos, wearing a sandwich board saying "I am not an advert." The police are in school, once again, after the latest attack against Mr. Hankin's car, and their presence keeps Darren's parents at bay - they speak to Darren's friends. Josh overhears half of a conversation between Vikki and Kelly about Kelly's gay friend, and jumps to the conclusion that it's Vikki who is a lesbian. Two sides form, supporting either Tom or Leah, and the rift between Lisa and Tracy grows, with Lisa on Tom's side, and Tracy on Leah's. Eventually, Lisa tells her what she really thinks, and a fight erupts. Darren finally calls his father's mobile phone - he and Amelia are safe. The press come to interview and photograph Max in has campaign against the sponsorship logos, and Mr. Forbes can't get a word in edgeways. Kathy tries to get Ben to listen to her worries about Martin (Ben's brother), but Maddie puts her oar in, and Ben doesn't listen. There's another round of the talent contest - Kelly is a little alarmed when her friend Alex turns up to give moral support for her comedy entry. Tom has a talk with Leah, but to him she seems to just be speaking Shannon's words and he can't really understand that she hadn't wanted them to have sex in Lisa's bedroom. Ozzy keeps trying to get Shannon into giving him an alibi to cover the time he sprayed Mr. Hankin's car, but she's deaf to his requests, and later, bribes. In the talent contest heats, Kelly does a worthy stand-up performance, followed by Claire singing a slow jazz number. Mr. Hankin finds Matt in the corridor, deeply upset. Matt explains that his gran is in hospital, riddled with cancer and the talk about testicular cancer has made him worry for his own health - he's done the self-examination and found a lump.—Geffers
