- After finally getting his body back under control, Seina receives his first academy assignment! Unfortunately, his mission is interrupted by the arrival of space pirates!
- Seina is eager to go on his first mission in space. Amane and Kiriko, however, say that it's a routine training mission and they've never encountered pirates during those missions. Amane says she'll be first officer, and she's not called the "Zero Goddess" for nothing. Kiriko asks Seina who the mission's captain will be. Seina says it'll be Seiryo Tennan.
On board the ship, Alan, Barry, and Cohen greet Amane, saying that she's called the "Zero Goddess" because she's never once encountered pirates on a mission. Seiryo adds that he, too, has had a zero pirate encounter record. As the ship prepares to launch, Seina sees Kiriko, Erma, Airi, and Headmaster Mikami watching them leave. The cadets salute the other staff, who return their salute.
Once out in space, the cadets man their positions, which for the cadets is stamping mail. Seina is somewhat disappointed, having expected something more exciting. The ship prepares to execute a hyperspace jump, but the engine malfunctions, forcing the crew to abort. Seiryo orders the cadets to their rooms until the problem is fixed.
In their room, Seina, Kenneth, and Rajau are joined by NB, who went off on his own while the cadets were stamping mail. NB shows the boys what he found, which appears to be footage from the female cadets' locker room. The footage is interrupted by a series of explosions, followed by the ship shaking violently. On the bridge, Alan, Barry, and Cohen report a pirate ship approaching. At first they are hopeful it's Ryoko's ship, but it turns out to belong to a Daluma Pirate Marauder.
The pirates board the GP ship, causing Seiryo to order all the cadets to remain in their quarters, his transmission interrupting NB's footage. NB says he's going to find an outside port for his footage. Kenneth and Rajau convince Seina to leave their quarters, saying it's only a drill -- there aren't any pirates for real.
As the boys enter one of the corridors, NB tries to tap into the security camera footage to get more video of the female cadets. He catches a tall figure that turns out to be Seiryo, who charges the boys with a sword drawn. Seina panics and runs into a large bay while the other boys watch. On the bridge, Amane sees Seiryo chasing Seina. Exasperated at Seiryo's actions, Amane leaves the bridge to find them both.
Seiryo corners Seina, who insists he isn't a pirate. Seiryo doesn't believe him, saying that all his loyal cadets are in their quarters. Hearing a noise, Seiryo backs away from Seina but is thrown across the bay into a wall as a pirate ship crashes through. Meanwhile, Kenneth and Rajau look for Seina, but come across a couple of pirates, who point their weapons at them before Amane knocks them out from behind. She orders the boys to find a place to hide, then goes looking for Seina. On the bridge, Alan, Barry, and Cohen report that the pirates have hacked the ship's security system.
As nozzles spray sealing gel to cover the gaps left by the intruding pirate ship, a female pirate emerges. Saying her name is Kyo Kamachi, the pirate asks Seiryo his name. Refusing to do so, Seiryo brandishes his laser sword. Kyo does the same, and the nozzles react, spraying sealing gel everywhere. Kyo says the system is malfunctioning, that the nozzles are responding to lasers. The gel traps Seiryo, Kamachi, and Seina. Meanwhile, Amane tries to fend off a couple of pirates, who receive word that their mother ship is under attack. They retreat, but not before throwing a grenade at Amane to slow her down so they can escape.
Seiryo brandishes a laser dagger to cut himself free, but the nozzles react, spraying even more sealing gel, flooding the area. Kamachi radios her men, telling them to shut off the fire suppression system. They say they can't, as someone has overridden the system and rerouted power. The "someone" turns out to be NB, who has rerouted the power so he can get more footage of the female cadets' locker room. Amane, however, interrupts him, pointing her gun at him and ordering him to find Seina.
Trapped next to Seiryo, Kamachi suddenly notices Seina on the other side of the room. Seiryo acknowledges that Seina is there, but blows it off, saying that the boy is a problem recruit and has delusions of becoming a GP officer. Kamachi asks what kind of captain drags an inexperienced cadet into battle. Meanwhile, Amane tells NB to shut off the emergency systems. NB says he can't -- they have to be shut off manually -- but Seina might be able to do so.
Seiryo tries to lecture Kamachi about questioning a GP captain. She retorts that she questions anyone who drags kids into battle, telling Seiryo he's the worst excuse for a captain she's ever encountered. Looking across the room, she notices that Seina managed to free himself with an ordinary pocketknife. Seina looks for a way to shut off the system, then gets a transmission from NB telling him to look for a square panel on the wall. He opens the panel and starts fiddling with the controls in an attempt to shut the system off. Kamachi is impressed by Seina's resourcefulness.
Seina shuts off the system. From across the room, Kamachi congratulates him on his efforts as her men arrive and use chainsaws to cut her and Seiryo loose. Seina tries to hide, but a transmission from NB gives away his position. Kamachi's men fire at Seina, causing the system to respond again and knock the pirates' weapons loose. Kamachi orders her men not to fire, saying he's just a cadet. She tells them to free her and Seiryo, saying they have no choice -- they'll have to take Seiryo with them.
Kamachi calls out to Seina, asking his name. When he tells her, she realizes that he's the famous Seina she's heard of. She tells Seina to beware of the pirate named Tarant Shank before she and her men leave. Seiryo rants and raves about Seina being a snot-nosed, troublemaking brat as he's dragged off.
After the pirates leave, Amane and NB enter. Amane asks Seina if he's okay. He says he is, but Seiryo has been taken hostage. Amane smirks, then feigns concern that Seiryo's capture is a great loss to the GP. Seina says that if they hurry, they can catch the pirates. Amane says they need to complete repairs first, which could take hours or even days.
Airi and Mikami discuss the GP ship's encountering pirates so soon after leaving port. Airi notes that Seina appears just as unlucky as Mitoto and Mihoshi, and that such a talent could be a useful asset to the GP. Airi suggests assigning Seina to the Kamidake, a decoy unit.
At Amane's house, Kiriko, Amane, and Erma talk about Seina's misadventure. Kiriko likens Seina to the Earth legend of the sirens, magical beings who would lure pirates to their islands, then destroy them and their ships. Erma says she's glad that Seina made it back, which is more than she could say for Seiryo. Amane agrees, but flashes a smile, which Kiriko notices. Kiriko adds that Seina apparently got his wish to see some action on this mission. Saying that Seina definitely saw some "action," NB shows the women the same footage he showed the boys. Kiriko asks Amane if this is what she's teaching her cadets, adding that Seina's become a pervert and a peeping tom thanks to her.
