In England, Simon Foster rides around in a Volvo S80, but a Mercedes E-Class is used for the interior shots.

When Toby and Suzy are bickering in the kitchen, two cups of tea mysteriously disappear from the chopping board between shots.

19 minutes in, when Malcolm orders Judy and Toby out of the room, he puts his hands on his hips... then instantly they're by his sides.

In the scene where Malcolm is walking outside the White House talking on the phone, he walks a segment from a light pole to a police car with very few people around. However, when Judy hangs up and the camera switches to face the fat man, Malcolm is back in the first light pole and the place is suddenly crowded. Then the camera turns around and shows the police car ahead which is now surrounded by a group of people on Segways.

Toby mentions he met Liza while she was a Kennedy scholar at his college in Cambridge. In reality, Kennedy Scholarships are for British students to study at Harvard or MIT.

The Bose 901's being used as PA speakers at an international meeting near the beginning of the film are turned around. The two cones showing on 901 speakers are on their backs. Ordinarily the purpose of such a sound system at a meeting is to amplify what is said, and employing them backwards defeats their purpose.

Simon and Toby land in DC at what seems to be the afternoon (it is still full daylight, there are no long shadows and they proceed to the hotel and discuss what they'll do that evening). They phone Judy in London to arrange transport for them. She is woken by the call in what she says is the middle of the night. But DC is only 5 hours behind London, so it should be no later than mid-evening there.

The United Nations emblem portrayed in the film is incorrect (the chief difference being the emblem's map of the world presented as a cylindrical rather than an azimuthal projection).

The mural in the UN Meditation Room is upside down and differs somewhat from the original.

British outlets are seen in both the Washington hotel and United Nations scenes.

Despite appearing less sober and inhibited, Liza and Toby are drinking bottles of Beck's non-alcoholic (blue label) at the bar in the Washington D.C. club.

General Miller (James Gandolfini) is wearing a unit patch on his left shoulder. However, officers assigned to the Pentagon, since they are not officially assigned to units, do not wear a shoulder patch. At the apparent time of the movie (pre-Iraq), even the current generic square US Army patch was not as yet authorized.

General Miller wears a Combat Infantryman Badge with 2 stars above his medal ribbons. This means he's been awarded it 3 times, in order to be eligible for this he would had to have served in combat in 3 specified wartime periods (only 4 exist so far). All 3 time CIB recipients were veterans of World War II, Korea and Vietnam. Miller is obviously far too young to be such a person, who would be long retired by the 21st century anyway.

When Malcolm Tucker leaves the White House urgently for the State Department, he is seen running eastwards on Pennsylvania Avenue, and in the following scene past the Willard Hotel on E St NW. This route would take him directly away from the State Department, which is west of the White House.

Liza Weld is sometimes referred to as Liza Wells, most notably when Toby is first introducing her to Judy and Simon.

While Malcolm Tucker might consider "climb the mountain of conflict" would be something a "Nazi Julie Andrews" might say, it was Marjorie McKay (ghosting for Peggy Wood, who played the Mother Abbess) and not Julie Andrews who sang "Climb Ev'ry Mountain" in The Sound of Music (1965).

It would seem very out of character for a senior public servant like Michael Rodgers to read Toby Wright's messages off his mobile phone (without Toby's knowledge or consent), and then share with Judy Molloy details of Toby's embarrassing affair with Liza Weld.
