- Giovanna Denne is in prison for life. One day she is being interviewed by a TV crew. She tells the story of her life, her deranged behavior which led to a series of brutal murders in front of the cameras. But she won't be called herself a "serial killer". She did it for fame, her gruesome posts on the social media reached millions of contacts and made her a star. Her personality is split in two, she is a woman but acts and kills like a man. Violence is an essential part of her life and the desire for it has been growing little by little and crawling in the back of her mind. As the filming goes on, more and more painful memories are brought back to life. Her life as a problematic teenager in the suburbs of Rome, with a very different point of view of the eternal city, her wishes and desires that little by little led to an inevitable tragedy. So present and past blend together in a vertigo of situations that recreate step by step the major occurrences of her life. Until in the end... The film is a manifesto on violence. Usually movies show portraits of brutal men but here the authors wanted to show the same kind of ferocious attitude in a woman. But is Giovanna really only a woman? Or just a man trapped in a female body? The way she walks, talks and acts is the one of a man. Even her sexual behavior is predatory and in the end some kind of violence is just part of the male nature more than the female one. Inspired by true events, the film is loosely based on real life assassin Johanna Dennehy.
