Melodrama overdose
cohuman14 April 2020
Kuberan here symbolises the large heart and helpful sacrificial nature of Karthik. Wastrel Manivannan lives in a cottage with his 3 wives and 8 kids. what he does for a living is not shown . He generally is a nuisance demanding or cheating money from very one . His first son Karthik is a tourist guide . they live in picturesque Kodaikanal. Manthara is his silent lover who makes and sells sweaters for a living . Kausalya a petty pickpocket comes to their town and crosses paths with Karthik . Karthik is very helpful and noble to the extent that he gives away his new hotel manager's job to his brother in law . In an unnatural turn of events she starts living with them , very soon a few duets later , they fall in love and get married. With no income of her own how she manages to wear nice costly chiffon sarees with pearls is not known . The family also has Karthik's first sister Anju with a wastrel husband who are totally dependent on Karthik's small income . Both the sister and Kausalya deliver babies at the same time . His sister loses her baby due to complications . Kausalya replaces her own son with the dead baby . The sister brings up the boy as her own . Karthik and Kausalya hide their feelings . Finally when Anju's husband tries to sell that 2 year old boy for a big load of money , all truth comes out . Finally , Every one redeems , Anju's husband , Manivannan ... A totally out of shape and form Karthik with his conspicuous wig and eye bags is not a pleasing sight . His chirpy dialogue delivery is a treat to hear as always . Manivannan's silly jokes bring smiles any time . The movie has a lot of sentiments, tears, heavy dialogues , unnecessary dramatic scenes and is a tear jerker .
