Warning: Spoiler alert! Do not proceed if you haven’t watched Tuesday’s Bones.
Bones set the stage for its series finale on Tuesday’s explosive penultimate episode, which, true to form for the long-running Fox procedural, combined the joy of a wedding with the terror of a killer on the loose. And everything ended with a bang.
The episode, titled “The Day in the Life,” flashed back and forward around the events of Cam (Tamara Taylor) and Arastoo’s (Pej Vahdat) reception, giving fans a chance to see the happy couple and all their friends and relatives -- Michelle! Felicia! Most of the old “squinterns!” -- celebrating their much-deserved bliss.
However, the honeymoon doesn’t last long, as the next morning Cam and Arastoo are summoned back to the Jeffersonian Institute’s Medico-Legal Lab, where, as Brennan (Emily Deschanel) puts it, “everything” has gone wrong.

Nickelodeon's new comedy series "Wendell & Vinnie" has been canceled.
A representative for the network has confirmed the news to The Huffington Post after it was first reported by Deadline.
"Wendell & Vinnie," which debuted on February 16, starred "iCarly" alum Jerry Trainor as Vinnie, the owner of an L.A. pop culture memorabilia store, who didn't have a care in the world until he found out he was the legal guardian of his wise-beyond-his-years nephew, Wendell (Buddy Handleson), after his parents died suddenly.
The series -- which also starred "King of Queens" alumna Nicole Sullivan, "Gangster Squad" star Haley Strode and newcomer Angelique Terrazas -- was pulled from Nickelodeon's schedule after its fourteenth episode aired in June due to low ratings. But the remaining six episodes of "Wendell & Vinnie" will air beginning Sunday, August 18 at 8:30 p.m. on Nickelodeon.

Lifetime's new series "Devious Maids" has come in for some criticism over the fact that its five lead actresses, who are all Latina, are playing domestic workers.
The soapy drama, which premieres Sunday (June 23), is based on a Mexican telenovela and comes from "Desperate Housewives" creator Marc Cherry. "Housewives" star Eva Longoria is an executive producer, and she and the five women -- Ana Ortiz, Judy Reyes, Roselyn Sanchez, Dania Ramirez and Edy Ganem -- who star in the show want people to actually see it before judging it. (Lifetime has the full pilot episode online, incidentally.)
"Honestly, my first reaction was not unlike the blowback we're getting," Ortiz tells the L.A. Times. "I understand where people are coming from because, as a Latina and being in this business as long as I have, I was like 'Really? "Devious Maids"? What, are we all going to be called Maria?'...

Devious Maids hasn't even premiered yet, but the new Lifetime soap is already facing harsh criticism for promoting Latina stereotypes.
The show, from Desperate Housewives' Marc Cherry and Eva Longoria, follows five Latina maids, played by Ana Ortiz, Dania Ramirez, Roselyn Sanchez, Edy Ganem and Judy Reyes, who work for the rich and famous in L.A. Last month, writer Tanisha L. Ramirez called the series "a wasted opportunity" in an op-ed piece for The Huffington Post based on a minute-long trailer.

Title: Gangster Squad Director: Ruben Fleischer Starring: Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Sean Penn, Emma Stone, Anthony Mackie, Michael Peña, Nick Nolte, Robert Patrick, Giovanni Ribisi, Mireille Enos, Josh Pence, Troy Garity, Jon Polito, Haley Strode The very jokey forthrightness of its title, “Gangster Squad,” evokes a kind of disposable pop-art mash-up of “The Untouchables” and “L.A. Confidential,” but with the seriousness of an old Saturday morning serial, and that’s just what director Ruben Fleischer’s rendering of screenwriter Will Beall’s period piece crime drama achieves. No thunder-clap piece of cinema, this, but instead a square-jawed movie that more or less works to the degree that one watching it is wishing to be entertained at that [ Read More ]

TV Land is kicking off another original series, and Happily Divorced fits in the same mold as its other successes. That is to say, it's a fairly screwy comedy that you'd expect to see coming out in the 80's. Fran Drescher is an L.A. florist who finds herself dating again after 18 years of marriage. Nothing that doesn't happen everyday, except that Fran isn't married anymore because her husband suddenly came out of the closet at her, and he still lives in the house.
The pilot solidifies itself pretty quickly, and establishes the idea that, at least for quite some time, the show will revolve around the curious husband/wife/new boyfriend triangle, with support coming from - Fran's parents Dori and Glen (Rita Moreno and Robert Walden), Fran's best friend Judi (Tichina Arnold), and her flower delivery employee (Valente Rodriguez).
By the way, Fran's husband Peter is played by John Michael Higgins,...

"From Prada to Nada" cast made a trip to Los Angeles to attend the premiere of their movie in the Live Regal Cinemas on Tuesday, January 18. Despite the chilling weather, Camilla Belle opted an open pantsuit and a ruffled raw silk bra top that bared her midriff, making it an unconventional choice of wardrobe.
Joining the 24-year-old beauty at the screening was another lead star Alexa Vega. The newlywed, who donned a red Lipsy dress, was hitting the red carpet with the companion of husband Sean Covel. She completed her look with Sophia jewels, but she was most proud of her wedding ring which she flaunted in front of cameras.
Other cast members making appearance that night were Wilmer Valderrama, April Bowlby, Nicholas D'Agosto, Adriana Barraza, Patricia De Leon and Kuno Becker. Director Angel Gracia was also present, while other stars like Carla Ortiz, Fernanda Romero and Mason Cook came as guests.

Every few days, the Hollywood Cog sends me manila envelopes stuffed with cryptic typewritten messages with Los Angeles postmarks and no return address. Lately, the envelopes have had a jasmine and lavender scent, so who knows where this is leading. Who I think now is probably a she (although, given my perception on the site, who knows?) provides quite a bit of information that I never use, that I file away. By the time it gets to me on the East Coast, a lot of the information has already been reported by Deadline or The L.A. Times or The Wrap, although, more times than not, it's Nikki Finke over at Deadline, who has lately become the obnoxious Internet troll screaming First! while skipping around her office in her skivvies eating Snickers.
What I've realized over the last year, working with the Cog and her lavender scented envelopes, however, is that...
