It's funny and "relay-table" . Jokes are well written and the show is well structured. . It's kind of evolved comedy with the slice of childishness. Love every bit of it.

You will take something away while laugh tears roll down your eyes

As someone who has been following the Indian comedy scene and Kanan Gill specifically for years, this makes me proud of the comic and in fact, the person he is today.
If you talk bout the humour quotient, right from the first five minutes, I was down with laughter. Though I might love a lot of other comedy specials that release online, hardly any has this effect on it. The special is filled with all sort of punchlines, call-back references and even PJs. Look out for PJs especially.
Not only is the special exceptionally funny, it teaches you something. He doesn't preach you anything, he just shares his experiences and how he perceived and perceives life now. And that in itself, leaves an impact on you. Watch this if you don't love life that much, because it will tell you that life isn't as serious as you're making it to be.
THE CALLBACKS ARE THE REAL STUFF !

A very nice surprise

So far, I have found the "specials" on Netflix quite rushed or same themes over and over again. Tonight I came across Yours sincerely and I have never watched standup comedians from India but Kanan definitely was such an incredible surprise: it was funny, it was connected, it made sense, it was entertaining and his facial expressions are priceless. 10 for the effort and support! It was a good time pass indeed! More, more, more!

Been watching Kanan's comic capsules and reviews in years gone by so jumped to it today itself. Not even a single hilarious minute. Few (less than) PJs (if you want to call it that) oneliners here and there, but overall disappointment in the name of Comedy Stand-up. Exceeding an hour was excruciating.
There were jokes to start with and melody to end with.

As a regular fan of comedy, I always appreciate the approach to it rather than appreciating the joke. It seemed a flaw in me, as an audience and as a fan. However this special so beautifully makes one realise how this can never be a flaw, but actual appreciation of the art. 'Yours Sincerely' is one of the best scripts in the Indian comedy circuit. I say this not because of the jokes but entirely because of the narration. The show is a live example of how grave things can be talked about without anyone getting even a slightest of uncomfortable.
It took me to a trip of nostalgia with plenty of side rides of giggles to a satisfying closure. There was an original rhythm in the script and the jokes were poetic in structure. The puns and props were a new experience.
This was so different from 'Keep it real' that one could be led to believe, they are specials from two different comedians professing different styles. It started straight with super funny grasping bits until you took out the paper off the pocket. It is when the main act starts . A constant juggling between sets follows. This juggling was so subtle that it led me to believe that there was only one set- an hour long.
There was this one point in the middle of a joke that I had to stop the video and think, what if I am living my life wrong too?- Kanan raised questions. This has not happened before.
Prior to this I used to believe, things are as simple as it is. You could just state the thing straight away and there was no need for hours long ted talks but the show makes me realise how there is beauty in holding the thought. He doesn't give away the moral of the story himself rather waits for the audience to understand it and then ends the show aptly.
This anecdotal comedy was super relay-table.

Deluxe comedy

When you think someone is the best but they out do themselves and become better than that best , this is what Kanan Gill has done with this groundbreaking special. Such intelligent writing, so well crafted and so so crisp. The callbacks are so unpredictable and they hit you SO DAMN HARD. it's just the best. Hands down. Also, turn off captions while watching.
True art

Art is what stirr the emotional pot inside you.
Philosophical, metaphorical and artistical.
This is what beyond sex and violence as expected by anthropologists, a mark for beginning of human-only experiences.
Or maybe art is less of what people put into it more of what get out of it. Or maybe art don't need a point, that's why it's art.

Yours Truly

The act started well, it had good punches here and there but overall it failed to be coherent and engaging. Kanan can definitely do better, the act was a good 1 hour plus but looked a bit rushed as the transitions in the story were not very smooth.
Kanan Gill has re-arrived!

The special is deeply personal and original. Kanan creates his own brand/genre of comedy with philosophical undertones (who knew right?) .There is wit and humor but above all there is so much empathy.
In a world where comedy specials try their best to distract you from your ongoing existential crisis and mental health issues (Voldemort of our society), Kanan manages to pull off the most fun therapy session without being shrinky about it. He doesn't solve for anything, but just puts it out there that "it's okay" to feel these things and you can still go on, laugh about it and do whatever you want to do.
You may enjoy this even more
For all the people that thought Kanan was the "pretty one" in pretentious movie reviews, here he is with a special which is high on EQ talking about things which are not political, overtly sexual or are gossip/criticism. This is him talking about something human and basic as sadness, joy, friendship etc from the most Indian original perspective.
P.S: I agree that The Teetar joke did not fit in this special but it's ok.

- If you realise how flawed the Indian education system it
- You were not the popular kid in school
- If you are a fan of Fight Club

Slow Burn with Introspective Comedy
jaianand-6670825 April 2020
This will not become an instant favorite by far but the special shows growth and growing awareness in comedy with very witty use of callbacks and stage presence.
There are great punches and nicely written call and response comic timing. With a hint of nostalgia and the "reminders" of technical age.
By comparing his passion of comedy to software engineering, Kannan delivers a simple yet quirky narrative to the nature of his task as a comedian.
Having said that. This review is "Timepass" at best.
And only times metaphor made sense.
Yours Toothfully !

Turn Down The Volume to ZERO to score a 1, for appearances. If this can score a Netflix special, then please Netflix, recruit all the housewives, aunties and grandmas of India. I'm pretty sure they have way better humorous anecdotes that meet the low bar.

What a good quality writing content. Not a slang, just pure comedy. Highly intellectual but at the same time too foolish. Great job Kanan Gill. Hope you will get some time during this Covid-19 situaion and write for your next special. Can't wait.

Very Well Written & Executed
OnjiMooteDaMarle5 May 2020
As far as being funny is concerned, it was funny. No It wasn't hilarious. There were funny moments and there were many. But certain aspects in those moments were interconnected very well and hence well written. Being Kanan Gill, it was well executed too and wonderfully climaxed. Watched it twice in two days. In other words, worth watching.

Kanan Gill has aged like a fine wine. While, Keep it real was a breathe of fresh air, his current stand up special on netflix appropriately highlights the difficult parts of adulthood in late 20s with a humorous twist. Must watch!
