Very intriguing indeed

This is a very intriguing episode as it's episode 2 of season 1 which makes Edward's introduction a perfect timing as Edward is the number 2 engine on Sir Topham Hatt's Railway. Edward the Blue Engine is belittled, condescended, unappreciated, mocked and rejected by the vain, snooty, snobbish big engines like Gordon. But Edward soon proves that he can be very useful despite his age. Gordon doesn't even appreciate Edward for helping him and that's not kind. Gordon needs to learn to treat other engines (especially Edward) with respect. Despite the narrator saying that all the engines are bigger than Edward, he's bigger than Thomas but size doesn't matter to me in this case as Thomas is my favorite engine and Edward is another one of my favorite engines. I'm sure Thomas would defend Edward if he were given a speaking role in this episode because Thomas is never rude to Edward whereas the bigger engines are. I'm happy for Edward in the end as his driver is rewarding him with a fresh coat of blue paint with red stripes. Edward may not be as big as Gordon on the outside but he's bigger than Gordon on the inside. My point is Edward may not be as big as Gordon in physical size but Edward has a bigger heart. I personally appreciate Edward and I always liked him from the very beginning.
