Huge Plot Hole
Stoshie27 December 2020
This was a typical Lifetime movie; predictable, with a quick and easy ending. Who the bad guy was telegraphed pretty readily; everyone should have know who it was right away.

But what really bothered me was the huge, gaping plot hole. I don't expect these movies to be without such holes, but this one was so obvious it had me shaking my head. When the wife of the doctor was in the car accident, she, her husband, and the detective all suspected the main character was trying to kill her. But the wife was driving the husband's car. It would make no sense for that car to have been tampered with if the target was the wife, who had her own car. The detective, most especially, should have seen that. But no; they all cast suspicion on our heroine.

I must admit I have a thing for Sarah Fisher, and I'll watch her in anything. But, c'mon, writers; at least try to pay attention to what you are writing. Though I suspect they just churn these scripts out as fast as they can, considering the number of original movies Lifetime put out.

It tries to be different but it's just predictable

Warning: Spoilers
I always fall into the trap of watching Lifetime movies and it's pathetic on my part. I'll still watch though lol

Anyway, it's not the worst movie, it's interesting, but predictable. Here's another warning for spoilers here...though you might guess some of these things anyway! Lily aka Stella is a stalking victim. Moves to a new place, works for a doctor's office, plastic surgery related. There's a patient that comes in, his face and head covered in bandages and I knew right away it was her stalker. They focus on him quite a bit. Then people start getting hurt/killed. The doctor gets suspicious of Stella/Lily. She admits she has a stalker and her real name is Lily and she takes medication for PTSD. Then you see the doctor on the phone with her therapist and her therapist is giving him information on her and warns him to be careful as she might have dissociative disorder. Um, what? Lifetime gets me sometimes with the plot holes.....that therapist could be sued for violating HIPAA, just giving some guy over the phone her information WHILE she also has a stalker out there. Again...not the worst movie. Just predictable and has some holes.

The movie was decent but I gotta say the lead actress drove me nuts!!! Ugh... she was a know it all! You'd think she was the doctor. I just found her annoying in this movie.

5 stars because I watched the whole thing. But plotholes and missed opps abound

Warning: Spoilers
His Fatal Fixation I only watched because working from home gives me the chance to not let movies linger on dvr. This movie started out fine then lost its way. I agree w/another reviewer that they didn't go that deep in hiding the stalker BUT I was disappointed. I wrote off the two doctors right away. They tried to get us w/the primary doctor being a familiar face. I knew it wasn't the second doc when he thought she was abusing drugs. The apartment handyman was again obviously not it even though they tried it w/him working on his car. Anyway, the story moved along as expected and we see Lily/Stella falling for her boss. Without rehashing the entire plot, this is where my disappointment began. SPOILERS AHEAD

I was really expecting (hoping) that Lily/Stella was the villain all along. What are the chances that the stalker survived the opening? She had a restraining order against him...presumably the police showed up....nobody told her he either disappeared before they got there or was still alive? REALLY?! Also, the way she reacted after sleeping w/the doctor was supposed to be a red herring but it was really bad writing. Everything pointed to her having a psychotic break. Her psych thought she was potentially dangerous and advised Michael to call the police, but when the "reveal" happened, she's all of a sudden not dangerous? She was put on meds to help w/hallucinating and yet she wasn't hallucinating? Like in the Hamburger Dinner Theater episode of Bob's Burgers..."a lie is not a twist." Seriously...how did he find her? Maybe I missed how far away she moved but do they really expect us to believe he fell off that balcony and was fine in enough time to resume tracking her?! How did he get in the doctor's garage long enough to sabotage the car? Also, the wife just randomly decides to take his car so that she can have the line about bad things happening since Stella arrived. I also found it creepy that the useless detective was practically salivating over hitting Brandon w/a sexual assault charge.

There's another Lifetime movie where the main character pretends to be harassed by her boyfriend's ex in order to get the ex out of their lives. I was hoping this movie was more like that where the lead was the master manipulator. It would have made for a much more satisfying ending. This movie was like another one with the girl from Switched at Birth who the entire two hours was acting inappropriately yet turned out to be the good guy. Disappointment.

Decent afternoon movie
terencecarson25 September 2020
I watched it till the end, which is not often the case for this kind of tv-movies. The story is certainly not original but keeps the viewer doubting about who is killing people around Lily Abrams (the lovely Sarah Fisher). Having seen a french dubbed version I cannot really judge the actors' performances. All in all a no-brainer hour and a half entertainment.

Annoying and predictable

Warning: Spoilers
Stupid movie. The story was your typical stalker movie but what really got on my nerves is the character played by Robin Dunne. He was a total jerk.

So I spent my time disliking his role which I think ruined the movie. He was no saint or knight saving a damsel. In fact it appeared that he took advantage of a stressed out woman and dumped her after a one-night stand. Wow what a man!

Don't waste your time.

The Many Faces of Lilly Abrams
lavatch30 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The face of Lilly Abrams incited her stalker, Spencer Morgan, to murder her boyfriend, Jason Dunn. Believing that Spencer is dead, Lilly starts a new life by taking a new name, Stella Gordon, and recovering her old face after an ugly scar from Spencer's knife wound.

The dramatic tension of "His Fatal Fixation" derives from the uncertainty about whether Lilly/Stella is delusional and keeps seeing Spencer as part of her imagination. Or, is he still alive and continuing to stalk her?

The characters in this film were exceptionally well developed. My favorite was Danny, the fun-loving caretaker of Stella's apartment. After Stella has successful surgery performed by Dr. Michael Marlon, Stella becomes smitten with him. But when Joyce, the kind PA, is murdered and Dr. Marlon's associate, Brandon Caden, winds up in the hospital with a coma, Stella is implicated in the foul play. As the drama unfolds, Danny always seems to provide a breath of fresh air in the tension-filled environment.

The methodical Detective Davis is carefully studying the case and interviewing the different parties linked to the Infinity Beauty Surgical Clinic. There was good suspense in the questions raised about the auto accident of Claire, Dr. Marlon's wife.

It was not until the final scene that the revelation finally came to vindicate Lilly/Stella. There was a terrific performance by Sarah Fisher, the actress playing Lilly/Stella, who is becoming a Lifetime fan favorite. With the excellent scripting and fast pace of the film, "His Fatal Fixation" unravels the mystery of many faces both literally and metaphorically as it keeps the audience guessing right up to the finale.

Wonderful lead by Sarah Fisher
hoops-5343611 March 2021
I first saw Sarah Fisher in Deadly Double Cross and then in Friends Who Kill. She is wonderful and I was anxiously awaiting this movie to see her in a true lead. She did not disappoint. Although the 'bad guy' was soooooo obvious to anyone watching, the movie put enough doubt in your thinking to keep your attention. If nothing else, watch it for Sarah Fisher.

Flawless film about fixation
paulgibson-2980629 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
If films about fixated stalkers floats your boat then this cinematic class act will be right up your river. Without giving too much of the plot away, an attractive young lady, played with great aplomb by the very talented Sarah Fisher, finds herself stalked by a deranged ex boyfriend. He turns up at her flat and stabs her new boyfriend to death with a knife and slashes her face. Thankfully, Lily (Ms Fisher), gives the brute a hefty whack over the head with a bottle of wine and he ends up crashing through a plate glass window to the floor below. At this point, I have to point out that the seedy stalker is not your typical Hollywood hunk and one can only wonder why the lovely Lily went out with the loathsome brute in the first place. Anyway, to cut a long story short, she moves away, changes her name to Stella, has her scar fixed, falls in love with her doctor who she now works for and strange murderous mayhem ensues. One of her patients whose head is swathed in bandages for several weeks shockingly turns out to be the hideous stalker come back from the dead! At this point, Stella understandably gives him a taste of his own medicine and stabs him but he manages to run off into the night... Well, day actually.... I won't tell you the rest for fear of spoiling what is a thoroughly enjoyable cinematic masterpiece.. What I will say is that all the actors are at the top of their game but Ms Fisher gives an outstanding performance as Lily/Stella.

The guy who plays the psychopathic stalker also deserves great credit and one can only hope that he gets to play similar roles in the future.

Ultimately, this hugely satisfying cinematic smorgasbord should be seen as a timely warning for all young attractive ladies to beware loathsome brutes whose heads are swathed in bandages for lengthy periods of time.

Hopefully, a sequel is the offing and an apt title for said classic would be... His Fatal Fixation Part 2 Highly recommended!

Big flaws
haroot_azarian1 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
So I like Sarah Fisher, even when playing villain. I could have liked this lifetime thriller if it wasn't for a few really annoying things.

The first one being Danny the landlord who not once but twice just let himself into Lily's apartment without even so much as knocking on the door. I don't know how the tenant/landlord system is in a crazy called the United States, but just because you send an email it does not mean you can just barge in willy nilly into your rented property and scare the crap out of your tenant. Since it was clear on both occasions that a) the tenant was unaware of the emails, and b) the landlord should confirm his appointment since he did not get a reply on both occasions. And c) what is wrong with using a cellphone to make the appointment? Just because you are a landlord it does not give you the right to walk in with your key any time you want. I don't care what country it is. Furthermore, if the rent is paid in orderly regular way then the landlord has no excuse to be so pathetically intrusive. And in this case get annoyed with the tenant for not checking her email. Incidentally Danny the landlord character is not in the cast list on IMDb strangely enough. This one of the stupidest parts of the movie.

Moving on. So Lily is the victim of a vicious stalker and is in therapy and using prescribed happy pills blah blah blah. She changes her name and goes to a clinic famed for their miracle plastic surgery techniques to remove the scar left on her cheek by her stalker. She states that she took out a loan for the procedure. I am wondering something, can unemployed people in the crazy place also known as the United States get loans? If so I'm packing my bags and coming over!

Anyway, so right from the get go she sets her eyes on Dr. Michael, and even though after cyber stalking him and seeing that he is married, it does not stop her from continuing to flirt with him. And when during Joyce's memorial get together at the bar she comes face to face with Claire (the wife) and the wife sarcastically hints at Michael being a womanizer, she doesn't care. And finally one evening at Michael's office Michael poor his heart out to Lily and they do the business.

Lily expects the relationship to continue, but slimeball slithering Michael suddenly finds his affections for his wife after her terrible car crash, and ghosts Lily. It is worthy of mentioning that Claire was also unfaithful a long time ago but she had stopped.

Anyway I didn't really want to go on about the plot who was good in the movie who wasn't or anything like that. I just wanted to say those were the main faults of the movie which otherwise could have been a much better psychological tv thriller.
