Since when is opening a can and serving store bought pre-cooked meals called cooking?
sellandbuyoncl18 July 2010
Some may think that this is racially motivated, but reality is reality and if they were not black they would not be on the air.

I would ask again why are they still on the air, or how they remained; but we all know it is to appease the NAACP or ACLU. It is not good enough to have an African American Cooking host which doesn't matter unless the show is geared towards African Americans only. I would like to see a show called "Cooking with the Crackers: Bon Fire Cooking" last. They call opening a can and heating up pre cooked food with "sauces" etc cooking. What recipes? If this show was not still on I would think it was a SNL skit. I am always waiting for her to open a cub-bard and point the her husbands balls sitting in a jar. By far the most offensive thing about the show is her fake "whitie" accent that displays from time to time. Oh yeah I forgot on Caucasions can be raciest.

The show simply is awful and if it were white people hosting it would have lasted more than 5 shows ............ and that is an exaggeration.

A Shout Out to the Neely's
msjpeachy22 October 2009
Gina is endearing to me and so is Pat. She is a combination of some of the Black Women that I know and love being around and I don't have a problem with accepting her zany personality and sense of humor. I refuse to criticize her about how her personality or demeanor may or may not be pleasing to me. Who am I to judge her? I enjoy the Neely's immensely!!! Gina and Pat make a great team and add a different flavor to the FN line up. I have to often remind myself that no one can always act, speak, look or react the way that we WISH they would. We ALL need some work and we ALL need acceptance because believe me somewhere we ourselves have EASILY annoyed the daylights out of someone just as much as Gina Neely have annoyed some of you. Such is life. So let's just accept people for what and who they are and be happy for their successes and embrace their DIVERSITY and STOP BEING JUDGEMENTAL AND PETTY BECAUSE YOU ARE UNCOMFORTABLE WITH CERTAIN BLACK PEOPLE.

They should have called it "Runover by the Neely's"

Last year I put a review here because I compelled by some pretty annoying forced banter. What a difference this year made. I never really give up on anything. Over the year I tuned in once in a while. Today's show is a repeat of a Sept09 show. It was a pleasant surprise. It was so much more natural between them. They were endearing and likable. It really does go to show that sometimes less and more. And to top it off the recipes looked gooood....!!!!

This is the old review that I was compelled to write... This show is horrible on so many levels. I've tried, I really have tried to like them and have watched more than a few episodes. THAT woman, has got to be the most overbearing, run her mouth emasculating cooking personality. She treats her husband like he is so beneath her. So condescending. She is so unlikable and I can without a doubt say that I would not welcome her into my home.

It doesn't matter how many times she calls him "Baby" it doesn't portray affection and love. The so-called banter between them is so forced. There is no chemistry and when she kisses him it looks strained. It's like that are not only trying... and failing... to convince us of this chemistry but themselves. It is painful.

I've read that they own a successful restaurant in Tennessee. After watching them handle food I wonder if they purchased a successful restaurant and have others always cook for them. They lack the natural connection with food that some cooks show.
