A touching story about friendship.
paliale508 March 2020
This is a really touching story about friendship, told in a playful and humorous way. Although the movie deals with serious topics it doesn't get melodramatic and rather focuses on the positive side of things. Their deceased friend Brandon was a fun-loving guy and I feel like this movie captures his essence and charecter perfectly. The documentary made me laugh but in the end also brought tears to my eyes. I walked out of the screening feeling really inspired by both the filmmaking and also Brandon himself.

Touchable story about friendship
ralftora9 March 2020
Very touchable story about friendship. Even if their friend is dead, they continue inside jokeing and this changes the story cordial and enjoyable. Also technical side is cool. There were good shots, nice editing and beautiful colors.

An emotional story of losing a friend
ckalev9 March 2020
Really heartbreaking story about rising star in Estonian hip-hop music who struggled with his own demons. For me the story couldn't have been told any better. It showed perfectly the mysterious personality of Brandon and his inseparable relationship with the movie authors. The sad emotions are well balanced with humour. The authors are definitely guys to keep an eye on, they may become great one day.

Excellent movie of a friend lost
reimopaevere-2049210 March 2020
A very well done short film, that's emotional but also balanced out by the humour ratio. Isn't cliche either, doesn't make you want to bawl your eyes out. Makes you relate to their loss, like it was your own friend. Overall, the edit and writing was spot on, well done boys!

A tragic, but endearing story about a dead friend
jsveski9 March 2020
The short doc really captures the spirit of Brandon's life and also that of the authors'. It very insightfully reflects on the death of a dear friend and the headspace of the Esko bros without turning into a tear jerker, only staying true to Brandons life. RIP

Very good cinematography and deep meaning!

I enjoyed every moment of the movie! It made me think about the health of my loved ones and at the same time wasn't depressing (and that is a very good thing!) Loved the ending and I kind of want to eat the "curry bread" now.. I would recommend this movie to everyone, its goofy and has a good, moving meaning!

Loved it!

Warning: Spoilers
I really loved the unique structure and honesty in this film. It had its sad moments and funny moments. It wasn't only about the rapper, it was also about the guys making it, which gave a cool perspective.

I remember reading the news about this young rapper found dead and it was quite shocking. Also, I had some common prejudices about the incident. Now having seen the film I can say that it opened my eyes and I wish I had been friends with Brandon aswell.

I'm going to watch it again!

One of the best short documentaries
trumpikas3 April 2020
I have seen all kinds of documentaries and short documentaries, but this is something on another level. This short film is just so well made and edited, it's a bit weird but brutally honest. The movie is about the death of Esko Brothers best friend, Brandon, who was a very young musician and suddenly left our world without being able to say goodbye to his best friends. It's a very emotional film, but at the same time it's made in a positive way that makes you laugh, but also really makes you think about your own life and your relationship with friends. A lot of the time we might take something for granted, when we should appreciate every moment with people we care about.

The only thing I would change about this film would be the length, would make it even longer.

The Esko Brothers are soon going to be known for their movies.

Best memory of friendship.
puhkus12 March 2020
This is the best documentary I've seen. The Esko brothers made it from the heart. The main character Brandon was their close friend from childhood. Life is short. You never know when it will end. The wonderful music Brandon wrote sounds in this film. This film is a wonderful memory of friendship.

inspiring
gritabae9 March 2020
It exceeded my expectations. Even though the film is on a rather delicate topic, it's still very enjoyable. I felt sad, I felt happy, but mostly inspired. I was inspired by the courage of the filmmakers to tell Brandon's story. It was lovely.

Touching tragicomedy of a lost friend
rmond-0173710 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This well-edited short documentary of a now passed young rapper really played one on my heartstrings. Squeezed in the 17 minutes were two narratives: firstly, of a young and aspiring rapper but furthermore of a great friend; secondly, of a two mourning friends, who tried to do their best to honour their friend's memory and grow themselves while doing it. As mentioned previously the short was really well edited without missing a beat, short and fast while being more happy and slowing down when the story climaxes. Combined with the soundtrack(composed of the dead rapper's music) it was truely a emotional rollercoster. One moment you are laughing with them and cheering them on on their carefree journey through world while knowing in the back of your head that all that happiness and joyfullness will come to a halt. People have to face their demons at one point or another: one's mental state and the others failure of noticing them. All in all this bittersweet tale from two young inspiring directors, writers and editors. Very reccomend!

Thought provoking
peanut-883419 March 2020
This 10 minutes was thoroughly enjouable. The story is emotional for the storyteller, which makes it resonate with the viewers. During the run time I couldn't stop thinking that I wish I met this outrageous fun loving character, but unfortunately that will not come to pass anymore. Whether we should all be a little more loose or take a step off the treadmill from time to time.

It is a quick watch that will definetely leave with new thoughts and ideas to think about.

A short film, which has more plot and depth than any other movie I have seen so far
karlperens13 March 2020
"Välguga löödud" offers the viewer a very emotional and inspiring watch, which while raising important questions and topics to later think about, is also very entertaining and well edited. Esko Bros always have a very interesting approach to their projects, like making film, what is about them losing a dear friend somewhat humorous, which really helped in leaving a good memory and an impression of their friend. They also seem to have lots of fun making their movies, which makes the movie very natural and easy to watch, nothing seems to be forced. Also gotta respect all the editing details they made, hands down, awesome job!

A touching tribute
karlhendrikrattus11 March 2020
The Esko Brothers have once again done it! They have created a documentary that tells the story of Brandon, their friend who died too young. Despite the subject of the story they have put a light-hearted spin to it that will certainly make you smile and bring tears of joy to your eyes. Great work! Oh, and the editing. It was superb!
