Synopsis

  • As the drought drags on and harvest time gets closer, Jeremy and his motley crew have a fearsome list of jobs to complete.

Jeremy sets up a spring water bottling plant. Its 48 degrees inside the metal container where Jeremy decided to set it up. Lisa is in charge of the plant. Happy rains revert in June. Lisa stocks the farm shop with an assortment of items to sell. But Lisa is breaking the planning permission since everything has to come from within 30 miles of Cotswalds. Pineapples and avocados are not local to the region at all. Plus eating 2 Avocados do more environmental damage than driving a Volkswagen polo for a year. Except from the eggs, nothing is from the farm. Charlie arrives and Lisa tells him that she is selling everything at a 40% margin, but Charlie speaks to Jeremy and tells him that her maths is wrong.

Jeremy returns to his beehive to collect the honey. Jeremy makes a few mistakes, a bee gets into his suit, and he damages the honey combs, but he is finally able to collect some honey. He collects some of veggies and returns to the farm shop. Jeremy wants to sell the honey for 40 pounds, but Lisa suggests 8.50.. a customer walks in and offers 6.5 pounds and Lisa takes it. Kalen buys a new Nissan car and gets a perm

Jeremy goes to check on his wasabi.. Many plants have died, but the some which survived have grown well. The restaurants have opened recently and Jeremy sends Kaleb to London to sell the wasabi. Kaleb has never been more than 12 kms away from Cotswalds. Kaleb gets lost in London with its congestion charges, parking laws and confusing street signs that don't match the GPS instructions. Finally Kaleb finds the restaurant, but has trouble finding a parking spot. Then he has issues paying the parking fee (which is online only).. when he cant, he goes without paying the fee. The chef says that the wasabi is good, but has too much wastage.. he needs bigger wasabi.. When Kaleb is out, he finds he has a 130 pounds fine. At the next restaurant, Kaleb sells 240 gms (150 gms after cleaning) for 10 pounds. This is a far cry from the 300 pounds a kg that Jeremy asked for and it cost Kaleb 10 pounds to park. The next restaurant is on the 32nd floor of the shard, and Kaleb is terrified of heights. The chef wont buy anything as the wasabi is too expensive.

Meanwhile Jeremy has to do paperwork with Charlie to apply for a govt grant based on the crops he is growing on his farm. Now Jeremy needs to provide a code for all the crops and vegetables he is growing and the area under cultivation upto 4 decimal points in square meters. If he gets it wrong, he pays a fine. The remaining wasabi rots in the farm shop. Meanwhile the local council is not happy that Jeremy's farm shop is not selling local produce.

Jeremy decides to make scented candles from his beeswax and labels it (it smells like my bollocks). Kaleb decides to protect the trouts from the otter and the heron by putting up an electric fence, and a paper flying owl and a metal man. Then Jeremy decides to sell the fish to the local pubs, and goes with Lisa to catch some. They sell for 2 pounds each. The customers return to the farm shop and the trout business takes off.. The crops are next. The barley is doing well. The rape crop is 10 days from harvesting. Charlie is going on the holidays.
