Humanizing Lucas and Walliams
planktonrules2 November 2013
The DVD for "Little Britain Abroad" is amazing. Too often, DVDs have next to nothing as the supposed EXTRAS you pay good money to see (such as a deleted scene or two or a commentary by the director's second cousin). However, Matt Lucas and David Walliams have provided an amazing disc--one that fans of "Little Britain" MUST have. Not only do you get one of the best sets of Little Britain sketches all set in various lands in "Little Britain Abroad), but you get TONS of great extras--including their lengthy Live Aid performance (they were the show that year), some GOOD deleted skits and this nice documentary about the final portion of their live tour. For fans, it is a must-see. However, for others it's probably NOT a great special feature. First, watch "Little Britain Live" (available separately) because the show their talking about makes so much more sense if you first see the show. Second, if you aren't used to the team's incredibly crude and disgusting humor (which I love), then the clips out of context of folks vomiting and David Walliams molesting audience members will make no sense. So, see some of their routines first to ease you into this degenerate live performance (again, I say this with affection).

As for "Little Britain Down Under", it's full of a lot you'd expect--such as clips from the show, behind the scenes clips of rehearsals and the like. But, it also has surprising clips of the team making a special appearance on a long-running Australian show, a funny meeting with Dame Edna (where he/she is NOT amused with Lucas' homosexuality) and a very, very funny bit with a couple ladies who supposedly won a meet and greet with the team (which is obviously fake and very clever). All in all, for a fan of the series, it's a delightful documentary--one that makes you wistful for the team's return.

Little Britain Goes Down Under!
Sylviastel23 June 2019
Little Britain has been a hit in its native industry and goes Down Under to Australia for a tour. Matt Lucas and David Walliams are brilliant of course. We see the behind the scenes of their shows along with Dame Edna and Kath and Kim. The show doesn't' get old but might be offensive. They're charming and human here. They brought their favorite characters to live sold out shows in Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane before its ends where it began in Melbourne.
