Hard hitting subject

Even though this film is about a subject that is hard to get your head around they have made it beautiful to watch with great scenery and an innocence to it. Excellent acting and well put together for Hayley's first film. Well done.

Moving, heartbreaking and beautiful short

So moved by this beautiful short by Hayley Osborne. Rich, complex performances with such incredible depth, heart and soul.

I was transported back in time through a journey of love, the joy of youth, memories and heartbreak. I loved watching the magnetic chemistry and connection between the characters. Young love, painful truths and coming back to history.

Beautiful images and stunningly shot.

I just wanted another chapter of the story.

Well done to the whole team. Wonderful work!

Beautifully written

An excellent short film. Wonderful writing, brilliantly paced, and outstanding acting. From the first scene to the last, You Really Got Me keeps you intrigued, wanting to know the story of James and Linda. Based on the Mother and Baby Homes of Britain, it beautifully imagines an emotional glimpse into the lives of a couple affected by these homes. Although dealing with a sad subject, the film handles it perfectly, providing some really quite charming and heart-warming moments. A delight to watch.

You Really Got Me ... Wanting More

Warning: Spoilers
Spoilers!!!!!

This short film draws attention to the very delicate subject of the British Mother and Babies Homes and examines the fall out of what happened to a couple when a young woman was sent to one of these homes. You Really Got Me follows the relationship of James and Linda, who originally meet in the 1970s and fall in love. They dream about their future but when Linda becomes pregnant, her parents send her away to a Mother and Baby home and she and James lose touch until years later when their paths once again cross. Four actors complete the cast and both sets of actors - younger James and Linda (Jack and Hayley) and (real-life married couple Phyllis Logan and Kevin McNally) breathe real emotion and empathy into these characters. It's easy to imagine James's anguish at losing the love of his life and their joy at finding one another again. At just over nine minutes long, the viewers are only to get the implication that James and Linda might rekindle their romance and possibly look for their long-ago given up for adoption child which leads this viewer to wish for a continuation of the story. This story is a rich one in both the context of the Mother and Baby home angle and the complicated, rekindled romance of James and Linda.

Wow! Just Wow

Incredible film that somehow manages to convey more emotions than most 2hr romances I've seen.

The chemistry between the actors is spellbinding and had me at the edge of my seat from start to finish. The 10 minute run time is used perfectly but c'mon guys we need more!

Superb!!

The chemistry. The storyline. The angst. The love! This was a wonderful short film that has it all and left me wanting so much more! Haley & Jack were amazing as the younger Linda & James and had great chemistry. Phyllis & Kevin, married in real life, as the elder Linda & James were phenomenal. I've said it many times, when two people really love each other, it shows in the eyes & it certainly does for this powerhouse acting couple. It left me wanting to know the rest of the story!

Outstanding performances

This short film is a little gem. The acting, particularly from Phyllis Logan and Kevin McNally, is outstanding. Very moving subject topic and beautifully written and filmed. I'd love a feature-length film telling us more about this story. A real treat.

Powerful and beautifully shot

This film was just stunning. The scenery, cinematography, the storyline and the actors. It all came together so nicely and the scenes with the younger versions of the older characters had such charm and a distinctive nostalgic (slightly American) feel to it, which I completely bought into. I loved the conversation between the two older characters and I hadn't heard about the baby homes before so it was very moving to watch. The ending was really sweet and brought tears to my eyes. I also love the colour choices against the scenery; it really made the whole thing pop. Fantastic first short film for Hayley and I'm certain she has a bright future ahead of her!!

I loved it!

Warning: Spoilers
I like short films. You don't have to spend two hours watching one of them and, still, you laugh, you cry, you think, you can get some answers for yourself.

This story is heartbreaking, yes, but it's hopeful ending makes all sadness go away. And it would be great to see what happens, so we want more!

Phyllis and Kevin are pleasure to watch as usual. And the fact that they are married in real life makes it more, I don't know, thrilling maybe. I love their little laugh moment in the beginning and when she tries to keep conversation light but he doesn't want that.

Young actors, Hayley and Jack, are very nice and showed us those sweet moments between two people being in love and looking forward for their future.

Well done. I thank all team for making this film. Wish you luck and success with your next project, Hayley!

Great short about a powerful topic

Managing to convey so much sorrow, guilt, love, and a spark of hope ALL into a few minutes is a remarkable feat, but it was beautifully done here. This is a story that's a part of so many lives but is so rarely told. Definitely worth a watch!
