Tammy is donating her kidney to her aunt one who only enters Tammy's life when she needs the kidney. Bonnie doesn't trust Cookie and thinks she will just end up hurting Tammy. Tammy initially is just giving her the kidney and won't see Cookie again but after they spend time together and Cookie makes promises to Tammy is open and trusting. But Bonnie is right and Cookie leaves without even telling Tammy. Bonnie comforts Tammy as we continue to see growth in Bonnie. Bonnie even admits in a meeting she sees some of herself in the way Cookie acted and it's not the other person's fault when they have been let down. We dislike when we recognize bad behavior in others we know we are guilty of or as Marjorie says " you spot it you got it"
The humor largely comes from Christy who is sure she's made a love connection with a patient at the hospital where the kidney transplant takes place but it's hilarious when she finds out just how wrong she is.
