- On a regular night, a regular cab driver picks up a regular fare. She is not very talkative and the ride becomes awkward. When they get run off the road, things start to become irregular. The fare suddenly runs off. She leaves her handbag. She hasn't paid. The driver starts to get worried. He gets scolded for ruining a car. He decides to look her up, find out what is going on. He doesn't get far at the address she is listed at. Her mother tells her he won't get far. He continues with the address she gives him. It turns out to be an expensive apartment, more expensive than one would expect. It is lavishly decorated with nude art on the wall. Then, a punch in the face. When he wakes up, he meets a well dressed, well spoken man just entering the apartment. He quickly checks outside the window and sees a car rush off, barely being able to read the license plate. He discovers that a painting is now missing. He also notices that the well dressed man had his own means of getting in and must have known the girl wasn't home. The well dressed man asks him to drop the case, making him all the more curious. Back on the road, he wants to go and find her but is interrupted by another fare, a pregnant lady. He rushes her to the hospital with a motor cop on his tail. The motor cop understands the emergency. After the drop off, they share a beer to get the nerves to calm down. Directly after, he has to drive a drunk to another location. En route, he is informed that the license plate he is looking for is sighted. When the drunk falls asleep, he decides to take him with him on his quest. Driving like a maniac, the drunk tries desperately to sleep off his state, not really aware of the racing style of the cab. They find the car and start tailing it. However, the car's driver does not seem to want to be tailed. It takes all the cab driver's driving skills to stay in pursuit and keep the drunk in the car. However, they lose the car. When he does find it parked in the city, he is intimidated by two goons. They force him to drive the car somewhere. While driving, they intimidate him some more. They arrive at a luxurious villa. The owner warns him to stop his search. The girl shows up, without a lot of words while the owner is around. THe owner tells him she is his guessed and he had better stay out of it. At the garage, his colleague explains how dangerous the owner of the villa is. He meets the well dressed man again. He explains that the villa owner is his client. He decides to look up who owns the girl's expensive apartment at city hall. He is told he needs to figure out some more before it can be found. Upon return, it turns out that the apartment is owned by a company. The plot thickens. He stakes out the villa during the night. There's a phone call between a businessman and the villa owner from before. He is using the girl as leverage on a business deal. Afterwards, our cab driver sneaks into the house. He finds the girl and tries to convince her to come with him. However, she doesn't want to. She asks him not to get the police involved, and see a Leslie Armitage. Upon leaving, he finds a map that must be important and makes some notes, then runs out when someone notices him. He goes to meet Leslie Armitage. They discuss what's going on in a pub. They devise a strategy to come out on top. He meets the owner of the land that is about to be purchased, a horse ranch owner. He hears about the great offer that came in two days ago. He calls Leslie Armitage to make an appointment. Jut then, his car is smashed by the same goons that forced him to talk to the villa owner before. He manages to get get them into an accident. He is back at the villa. He shows his cards. He asks for reparations so he can let the affair slide. Back in the city, his colleague calls him crazy for letting it all go. While on duty, the goons show up again to force him back into their dealings. In the country side, the two businessmen meet up. They sign a contract to become partner, forced by the villa owner who has the girl as hostage. Now the girl shows her allegiance and the other man understands that she is no longer in love with him, isn't a hostage and that everything was staged from the beginning. The cab driver is shown in and they discuss how they are going to get him killed making it look like an accident. He manages to escape while being shot at. He overwhelms one of his pursuers but gets shot. He overwhelms another, taking his gun. He tries the phone but it is monitored. He tries to leave but is stopped by the villa owner with a shotgun. He tricks him and shoots him. He forces him back in the house and picks up the phone. The girl asks him not to call the police, offering him money. He doesn't budge. Back in the city, he is back at his job, begrudging the fact that a bunch of lawyers have already swept the affair under the carpet, and that's that.
