A pivotal episode of the second series
DVD_Connoisseur18 February 2008
"Reset" continues the second season's run of solid stories. Introducing the delectable Martha Jones to the proceedings, this gripping episode is one of the strongest so far.

Alan Dale appears as the baddie of the week, the calculating Copley. Dale's come a long way from "Neighbours" and it's always great to see him on the small (and large) screen.

Without a doubt, one of the more memorable episodes, "Reset" will have fans discussing its content for some time to come.

Without hesitation, I give this tale 8 out of 10. The effects are pleasing, the pace is spot on and there are a few unexpected twists to boot.

Torchwood Lives Up to Its Potential
reddishHUE24 February 2008
So far, I have been very impressed with Torchwood's new season, but this one has made me a fan of the show forever.

Initially, Torchwood was a show that let me indulge my John Barrowman fan girl fantasies. During the second season, I started watching it more for what it is. But this one nearly made me pee in my pants with suspense.

The plot was smart and blood-thumping, the dialogue good with some appropriate touches of humour. I can finally say that Torchwood has become the show that it should always have been.

Lets hope that the Torchwood writers keep up this intensity and energy.

Torchwood becomes more consistent

Reset uses Torchwood's 15 rating very well. Previously, Torchwood was unnecessarily violent or over sexual, whereas this time, the violence and gore feels appropriate. This is a pretty good episode, the plot is interesting, and feels quite grounded. The inclusion of Marth was also good to see.

Before woman in hospital dies, she reveals that she was HIV positive but curred in the facility Pharm with drug reset that puts body in it's primal function. Martha shows the team the puncture in the eye of the victims which was lethal, and she explains that the victims are all of different age, occupation etc. Jack and Owen decided to visit the Pharm. There they meet Dr.Aaron Copley who receives them well but won't reveal anything. Then Martha volunteers to go undercover to the Pharm as a test subject for a knew drug. A very intense episode. Martha comes unexpectedly and immediately everyone likes her. The chat between her and Gwen was interesting, but her talk about Jack with Ianto was revealing. When Martha goes undercover Owen gives her cool gadgets of alien origin that even 007 would be envious. Strange enough at the end Owen becomes an dashing hero. Jack had full confidence in Martha, but of course she did need help and like in every episode so far at the end Torchwood team did come to her rescue. Only this time the action was very good and the plot was very thought out.
