Creepy and haunting

It is honestly like nothing I have ever seen. The music is creepy and fits the story carrying much of the emotion. The stark cinematography escalates the sense of isolation. Well done to one and all.

Shocked!
cbomb-9006530 August 2020
You see the name Polygamy and you immediately think there's going to be some kinky weird stuff or some biography about some town in AZ or UT. I was shocked to see this film in black and white and then I thought my screen ratio was off but soon realized the film makers intent was to make it look as old as possible. It was a modern take on an old genre. Very little dialog made the music that much more involved with the piece. It kept you mesmerized though this 20 minute short. Do I wish there was more? Yes and No. I would love to see where they took the film and character development at the same time it was just right. It kept my attention the whole way through, that's a plus for a Black and White film.

Haunting as hell

I was curious to see what this was all about after seeing City of Salt earlier this month, I was not disappointed. This short film artfully combines the style of Renaissance art with old black and white movies such as Frankenstein and Dracula. It's creepy as hell. The music builds up and creates a haunting yet beautiful masterpiece.

New style of film

Warning: Spoilers
I saw this advertised in a horror film group and had no idea was to expect. usually indie films bore me. i left with what in the hell did I just watch. I've never seen anything like this and really liked where it went. my only complaint is I wanted it longer, the music got me hypnotized

Also the sexual abuse thing from their master, she cries and says sister veronica's too young and he promised he wouldn't but he does. operation underground railroad should be all over this films message. It is a battle cry against abuse and even human trafficking, in my opinion

Whoa!

Warning: Spoilers
I loved the violin music throughout! It was haunting. The subject of polygamy is an interesting one when you live in Utah/Arizona yet this short brought a different view. Normally one would expect to see just women and children working away on the land or in the home and the "master" nowhere to be found.

This short film took the "traditional" polygamy household and turned it upside down by the women freeing themselves from the "master's slavery".

My favorite part: They are all walking towards the grove/building to worship the Architect in winter's snow and cold. After the "ceremony" we see the earth has begun to waken out of winter's death into the warmth and healing of Spring, just as the women did.

Brava!

Dark melodic short film
gmrbiz30 August 2020
This was so artistically done!!! It was beautiful and at the same time eerie and suspenseful. It's scary to see how a group of women can be driven to the brink of insanity when they have had enough abuse! The magnificent black and white cinematography and music score added to the dramatic effect of this film.

Mesmerizing

I cannot stop watching this. Like another reviewer, I want more but I don't. It truly leaves you feeling like: What did I just watch?! But not at all wishing you hadn't. Beautiful.

Amazing! Very thought provoking!

What a great short film! I've watched it 3 times so far and get more out of it each time. The reactions between the actors really make it! I definitely wish it was longer allowing for more character development, but exceptional based on how short the film. Amazing. Definitely worth a view or few!

a stylish masterpiece

Wow. Just wow. The vibe, gothic feel, black and white, story, and bizarre nature of the movie I can't get over. All I gotta say is when enough women are abused and repressed for so long, revenge is coming. What another beautiful masterpiece from the zepstone team. Can't wait to see what's next.
