I like the fact that this showcases missing person cases. It's especially interesting because it features people that have gone missing in the wild, in the mountains and jungles etc, but the show suffers from being extremely dramatic at times with Kinga and JJ running around with their camera man in a Blair Witch sort of way complete with dramatic eerie music. I feel like the show needs to focus more on the logical reasons this person could have went missing. As with all the other shows on the Travel Channel, it focuses quite a bit on paranormal activity, which I don't care for. One of the most recent episodes, Kinga found a jacket within a crevice of the mountain where a man had went missing, but she was not able to take it with her because of some mysterious people that appeared and they had to leave quickly as if running for their life. They run and hide in some type of building all the while JJ keeps his flashlight on where it can clearly be seen by whoever it is. Really?! Lol I'm not sure if this was real or just dramatics for television, but if they were really trying to find a missing person and they had found a mysterious jacket in the place they went missing, then it would be ridiculous to leave this behind the way they did. So yeah, the show can be ridiculous at times. With some tweaking though, I feel it could be a solid missing person show.

Incompetent and childish approach to serious subjects

What the hell is that lady doing on this show?
She sees animal-bones in the jungle and say it is so scary she doesn't want to stay there.
Should have stayed at home, not being a part of this project at all.
It is very evident that it is her incompetence weighing the entire show down, with uneducated guesses and comments all the time, non-stop.
The childish horror-music is playing non-stop, in the most awkward of places and situations. They evidently don't have a clue what they are doing or about the locations they are in, if someone in the crew had a clue, the producer/director shut them up and replaced it with Kingas buffoonery.
This show will remind you what they just talked about, and will then recap it all just before an ad-break and after that is over, you will hear their nonsense once again. The amount of "fillers" to make the shows-length is far exceeding 40%
These episodes have at maximum 12 minutes of "content", below 5min if you cut her crap out.

I get it. It's an IQ test.

If you're a home school dropout with a rabid gamut of conspiracy theories, I highly recommend this show, but if you have any semblance of critical thinking ability, don't bother. There's nothing to learn here. It's not even funny enough to be entertaining. I don't know what you'd call this show except trash. Cable tv is really scraping the bottom here with this one. It's not a travel show because you don't actually learn anything about the places they visit. It's not a comedy either, although some of the staged scenes are so lame they're hilarious. They make it appear as if they're doing investigative work but pay attention and you'll see that they don't actually do anything that makes any sense and most of the scenes are so obviously staged to fluff up the story, it makes me wonder what kind of person watches shows like this. Is it a failure of the educational system, parenting, genetics, what? I suppose the families and friends of the victims are probably glad that at least some memory of them is kept alive but I'd call this amateurish and irresponsible exploitation hosted by a couple of wannabe celebrities.
Excellent Program!

Terrible

This show is absolutely terrible. They create fake problems to add dramatic effect and they don't provide enough relevant background to the cases. On top of that the camera work and editing are awful. I don't understand why this is still a show...
Not introvert-friendly documentary.

I've watched many documentaries over last 20years, some going back to 60s of previous century up to lates ones like Lost in the Wild.
The problem with modern ones like LITW is that narrator feel a must to appear on the camera while talking and to do the show for herself, with a overbearing tendency to emphasize her voice too much, whereas on older documentaries a narrator is behind the camera and not visible, thus allowing exploration of a topic to be done in most effective and undisturbed manner.
I am introvert and this is not the documentary that I am fond of watching. Her voice is tiresome and annoying, camera is shaky and lacks stabilization. It can't compare to top documentaries like those narrated by David Attenborough.
If you're introvert too, I suggest skipping this.

True Crime meets Adventure

I have been hooked since E1! True Crime meets Indiana Jones. This show is done with intelligence, journalistic integrity and respect for the families and loved ones of the lost as well as local culture, beliefs and customs.
The stories are fascinating and the scenery draws you in. I can't wait for updates on the cases and more episodes!

2 instead of a 1 only because it gave me a laugh

Not even sure where to begin. I guess just the creating fake problems for dramatic effect is where it really became too ridiculous. I only watched one episode based in Africa and 15 minutes in started googling "has Lost In The Wild ever actually found anything?" because it seems they just travel around, acting like complete amateurs. "We found a piece of clothing" *puts it back* "We can't go back for the jacket because of the people nearby" give me a break. If the whole premise of the show is to look for missing people but not actually try then they nailed it. It was funny for a bit with how unrealistic it was but then it just became stupid.
Love this Show

The show was great at the first episodes then they found excuses to go into paranormal explanation which ruined it for me.

I really love the show!
My only wish is that a be longer maybe 2 hrs 😉 Also it would be great if there are any changes or updates on the episodes they've already done maybe they could do one episode only focusing on those after of course they get more episodes under the belt.
This is the 1st show in a long time that I've set my DVR to record.

Terrible! Not even good enough to be a mockumentary

Terrible show. Got worse with each episode. Very overly dramatic, host jump to conclusions, staged clues, other possible clues ignored, scripted. So bad it's hard to watch. I have watched better YouTube videos. It's like The Blair Witch Project and Josh Gates had a mentally challenged child. Especially episodes 7 and 8, just terrible. Great idea, the concept would make an outstanding show, but nothing in it feels real. Not just a swing and a miss, but a swing in one stadium for a ball thrown in another stadium, in another town. Don't bother watching, your time would be better spent catching up on you sleep, arguing with your spouse, or playing with an imaginary pet. If people going Missing is fascinating to you, google Missing 411. That will take you done a fascinating rabbit hole. For me, Lost in the Wild is a thumbs down.

FAMILY STATEMENT
The Dada family wish to thank everyone that has reached out to verify the authenticity of the content in regards to the episode of Lost in the Wild about Mt Inyangani and Zayd Dada.
The unauthorised use of Zayd's pictures and the fake facts mentioned about Zayd was highly distressing to the family. The sensationalism found throughout the documentary was misinformed and misleading.
For the record, no official Tribal Elders, Nangas or Family members were contacted for comment or to verify the facts. The actors appear to be staged and are not official tribal elders in any capacity. There are no lions or hyenas in the area and there haven't been for close to a century or longer. Specifically Zayd or his wife had not taken their wedding ring on the trip, he also had left his phone on charge at the lodge that he was staying in and he never wore a watch. The pictures used on the episode of Zayd were taken from his social media page and were used without our consent.
In conclusion, we also wish to address the preposterous notion that he ran away to Mozambique. The filmmakers clearly used creative licence in the hope that their conclusion would have some sort of authenticity. Any real journalists, with some investigative integrity would just need to scratch the surface to find out that no one runs into Mozambique willingly, rather people try get away from the area as much as possible because of rebel militia operating there who are known for killing people for no reason at all. It's therefore sensible to assume that no one would consider running away to Mozambique as a viable plan. Especially through that route.
The family neither endorse or support the content of this program and label it as fake and sensational with no credible information, authenticity or fact.
Zayd is still missing, and he did disappear on the mountain without a trace. Whilst the details surrounding his disappearance remain a mystery to date, the family wish to set the record straight about this program and ask that you respect their wishes in choosing to make this statement only to correct the facts.

Nothing Like It On TV Today!

When "Lost In The Wild" begins the opening credits you can be assured that you will be blown away with the incredible talents of J.J. Kelley & Kinga Phillips! They do not just tell the story, they LIVE it! Putting themselves into each case & into the shoes of the missing to get to the truth in every way possible to ensure facts verses fiction is examined to the fullest extent. First hand interviews with every person involved is attempted & often leads them off course at key points where due to their instincts often opens additional resources from unexpected sources. If you haven't watched this amazing program yet, then please do! You won't be disappointed & will definitely want more. They put themselves into some beautiful yet deadly locations to get the truth behind some mysterious disappeariences that even local authorities have failed to solve. Intriguing, Electrifying often spontaneous interactions combined with the professionalism of these amazing hosts, takes you down into the seedy underbelly of being "Lost In The Wild!" We can only hope it will be picked up for a season 2 & I definitely support that being done as it has so much more to give & truths to uncover!
Love Kinga's Hat choices too...
This is strictly for the African mountain episode
aulani-2299911 February 2020
This was the most pathetic episode ever. Kinga lying saying she seen something why didn't the camera try and zoom in? Maybe because there was nothing! They found a jacket but didn't investigate more, or take it. The game camera took pictures of the crew that followed them. Never seen white poachers in Africa, not racist but I mean come on. Then at the end when they seen people with lights. I mean come on!! Your not fooling any one, your telling me they came that close and did not see you running off?!
Terrible show!
