Its a story about being young and male and though they are not perfect and they are just as angry and sweary and mean as any boys at 16, the misogyny is not excused but it is used to show that lgbt people can be anybody and to increase sympathy towards the lads that sit on the swings in the park. It just makes us aware teenagers are humans and as a teenager that feels nice. It has a good conversation about neglect and disability as well.
