It could also be a reference to the Mage Knight horror/fantasy games, which has a classic Werewolf miniature labeled as #138. The main werewolf at the end bears a striking resemblance to the Mage Knight figurine.
On the news the reporter says that one of the victims' name's was "Ginger Fitzgerd". Ginger Fitzgerald was the main character in the 2000 horror film Ginger Snaps which follows the protagonist's transformation into a werewolf.
