- Juhno wanted nothing more than to be an actor. When his acting troupe in Korea is rocked by #MeToo, he escapes to San Francisco. Unlike Junho's attempt for a fresh start, his transgression from the past dislocates him from the present.
- The Film Junho is a story of a young man who wanted, above all, to be a stage actor. Junho was a member of a prestigious Changbi theater troupe led by (the iron grip) of 'Master Lee'. Even though Changbi culture was harsh to newcomers with regard to its stringent hierarchy and law, Junho excelled. As a key to his success, Junho had the support of his colleague and best friend, Jin. The film begins in Korea with a brief glimpse into the past to a Changbi initiation ceremony, then fast forwards to the present. We see Junho arrive at SFO International Airport a visibly changed man; one who is drained of his youthful optimism. He arrives at the home of Chang, a former senior member of the Changbi troupe and begins to work on his food truck. Chang invited Junho with the understanding that he had knowledge of the crimes committed by Master Lee, which includes Chang's culpability. Chang grows nervous and fears that this information will jeopardize the new life that he has created for himself. One evening after a long day of work, Chang confronts Junho. Reluctantly, Junho opens up and names a long list of female members of Changbi, who were sexually abused by Master Lee - including his best friend Jin. Junho is haunted by his past. We see him venture through the beautiful scenery of the Bay Area, immersing himself in his new reality. But the memories and lingering attachment to his craft unshakably haunt him. Tormented by the loss of his dream, and not being able to protect Jin, Junho finds catharsis in an open stage in San Francisco. Dressed up as what could have been his career-making role, Junho plays the truth, the sorrow, and the rage at a place where no one knows his past, can relate to his truth or understand the depths of his sincerity.
