It was alright... not the best
nickzapapp2 April 2020
I knew this was going to be a lighter tone episode... that I didn't mind at all, but this episode was a little bit on the poor side. The scene structure of this epsiode was god awful, having seven minutes of straight Reddington at the start and then like five other scenes for the rest of the episode.

Secondly no fight scenes or ACTION sequences, even if it is a lighter tone episode it is a CRIME DRAMA MYSTERY - there should be some action.

The writing at times is god awful.. certain instances where there is a random reason added for Red to explain something to another character so that the audience can understand what the hell is happening... that happened quite a few times in this episode and the next one which I just sent a review on.. an example is 'oh your cornelius ruck..' how the hell did Red know that, why was that just randomly introduced...?

The ending was like a meme..? Aram and Elodie were talking and then for 10 seconds it showed them in bed hearing the ventator.. I mean was that a Joke or something ..........?

Some good scenes (not a lot) Dembes Birthday, Ukraine was interesting. Waffle Scene and Good Fashion (for once) the cast had some good clothing and not something sloppy.

I expected more
lukebernstein321 March 2020
They said the tone would be lighter. The first 10 minutes were great. Most of the middle of the episode was really boring. It starts with a lot of reddington in the first 10 minutes so it looks like it will be that way and then reddington basically only has a few scenes in the episode until the last 10 minutes. And for some reason the episode ends with a scene with Aram and a eledy. I think it should have ended with red arriving on the island he will be on in the next episode. This just felt like set up for the next episode. Not the best mid season premiere . I hate inconsistant episodes that start out featuring Red prominantly and then don't be consistant the whole episode. This starts out looking like it's going to be like the episode smokey putnum. Greyson Blaise. Or Robert vesco Then it abruotly turns into a snooze fest Then reddington finally meets the blavklister in the last ten minutes. When he had only had a sparse two or three scenes in the middle of the episode. And that after he appeared in almost the whole beginning teaser of the episode. Please writers if your going to do that be cobsistant. It's starts out focusing completely on reddington and then drops off and becomes boring. I am trying to make a list of top 50 episodes. And also doing utube reviews. This is not a top 50 candidate And seriously only one actual scene with spader and Boone? And a phone call? What's going on? The show has been like that for a while The two "co stars" are barely in any scenes together. Some thing going on we should know about?

A distraction
panters9812 April 2022
I liked this episode only because it served as a minor distraction from the horrible subplot (now main plot, it seems) surrounding Liz's gullibility being written into the ground along with this obnoxious character who clearly isn't her mother. The Kate Bornstein cameo was really cool.

Really?!
Fan202021 March 2020
What is this? We've actually waited three months for this? You've got to be kidding me. As a diehard Blacklist fan I have spent 3 months re watching all the episodes analyzing Raymond Reddington trying to find out who he really is. Those episodes were witty, intelligent, full of mystery, and a constant surprise of warmth. This was just blah blah blah. First of all Aram..who is he now? totally out of character. Actually he grosses me out. And then Raymond is wayyyy too giddy..almost like he's losing it. And then to top it all off. ....The two part episode ..yes 2 hours we have been promised..nope only 1... and then dateline?... wow I hope next week redeems itself. Or I'm a fan lost forever.

John Glenn never rode the Gemini
Behold_Eck21 March 2020
When speaking of, "making love in the Gemini capsule that John Glenn went to space in..." How ignorant is this script writer? This is a 10-second fact check, that was ignored. Glenn went into space only twice - in the Mercury capsule & one of the space Shuttles. He was never scheduled to be in the Gemini program. WAKE UP!! This info was not "rocket science"!!

Oil paint smells!
dierregi6 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
They did it again, after the stupid episode of the art "expert" mistaking a fake painted the previous day for a Rembrandt 🙄 OMG! In this episode, Victoria's stealing from her parents by falsifying objects in their art collection and her last replacement is a canvas she just finished painting....

It's impossible to fold a freshly painted canvas, because oil paint doesn't dry in one day and you certainly wouldn't need an expert to discover a fake painted the previous day BECAUSE OF THE SMELL!

A shell of its former self
boychevradoslav21 March 2020
The only redeeming qualities of this whole season is Red, Cooper and Ressler, the latter two have absolutely nothing to do which is why they haven't been completely ruined yet. Aram is too busy c*cking a vegetable man with his obviously impostor of a wife who is most probably an enemy.

Predictable as all hell episode, weak dialogue, even weaker blacklister. A positive for this episode is the lack of Katarina Rostova, whose actress could not act her way out of a paper bag riddled with holes.

One for James!!!
nemesis-8822 March 2020
I'm giving this episode a firm and unequivocal ONE. First of all, Boone is still in it. When Restler told her to "play dumb", the first thing that came to my mind was, "She doesn't have to play". Second, the my-mommy-is-a-Russian-spy degenerate saga continues and doesn't seem to be on the way out. It's time to bury this whole Katarina Rostova nonsence and concentrate entirely on the magnificent Reddington. And I REALLY don't care about Aram's hopping from foot to foot with the moral aspects of his love life. Once and for all, sleeping with a woman when her husband is dying on ventilator in the next room is BAD. Asking if it is is like asking whether it's okay to steel family silver from your friend's house. I'm adding one more point for the amazing James Spader. He is the only actor still keeping this show floating, but he can't do it forever. If dear Misters Creators want to have another season, they need to make changes FAST.

Absolutely Terrible
mikecallery-235-53738623 March 2020
I was so geared up waiting of this episode and was absolutely destroyed.

Were the writers on vacation? Nothing carried over from the previous episode and storyline.

Red was all pheasant and sarcastic. Not his usual self. Liz was all but non-existent.

I cannot enough about how bad this episode was. It lacked everything that made this show authentic.

Why Elodie is still in the show? Why Aram is so stupid?
pmitsi-121 November 2020
I am surprised the writers keep Elodie after so many fans (me included) disliked her.

Plus, Aram has proven to do a lot of idiotic mistakes despite his intelligence through-out the show - giving a death warrant to the love of his life only one of them. The man just doesn't get the message: Be careful what information you share with and with who.

And then this episode opens with a scene letting us know that the good boy shares the top classified info from his work with the least reliable person ever: the one who gets on by doing stupid things.

What does the series want at this point? To push its fans away?

Such a Terrible, Pathetic Episode.. Snoozefest!
manu-9786527 March 2020
I eagerly waited since last year for a great episode as comeback after the season break. I got trash in this episode! Everything was so boring, I couldn't get any interest in story, whole plot was so disconnected. No carryover from last episode at all. People, if you miss this episode, you not gonna lose anything in continuity, waste of time for me. Disappointed with writers of this show.

What happened!?
milesstanfield24 September 2020
This episode was the most unrealistic episode of Blacklist there's ever been. Nothing in it makes any sense and there were so many scenes of complete nonsense that didn't drive the story at all. It's almost like there was no editor involved here at all

More Dramatics
Hitchcoc4 December 2022
Ressler and Keen share secrets. I don't care. Mom is still alive. I don't care. Aram is sleeping with a woman who intubated husband is in the next room. I only care because it is disgusting and distracting. I've grown tired of his schtick as the shy, uncertain guy who has trouble keeping his pants on. Oh, check out John Glenn's space capsule. The heist plot is really lame. Red wants some valuable little metal boxes and goes to a young woman who has been trading copies of valuable art pieces to finance some kid who got sick. I'm sorry. Lost interest in that one as well. I didn't mind that they spent more time on the separate plot and less on old Katarina, but it was just kind of dull.

SMH At Aram...Bad Choices In Women
noonieblount6 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
So Aram is standing nearby as the nurse administers CPR on the man whose wife he's having an affair with? I've said this before, Aram is like a child, has a child's mind despite the intelligence he shows with technology. He used to be one of the more moral characters on the show and then a semi-attractive woman gives him some kitty and he all of a sudden loses all the brain cells in his head.

Continued plot holes: why does Reddington have burn scars on his back. What is the Anchorage secret of the new agent?

If Agent Keen ask for "the truth" one more time, whisper her lines to try to make it suspenseful, or get teary-eyed again, I will throw my phone at the television. Megan Boone's acting is hideous. Although, the writing is below sub-par, I don't think she could pull it off if the writing was remarkable. I know with all the reviews of her bad acting skills, it could be deemed an act of cyber bullying so just get rid of her character and the negative reviews would stop.

Please explain why the Fenberg girl would go see the suspect in jail? The writers are idiots. As if government buildings are not under surveillance.

Will Aram continue to fall in love with everyone that shows interest in him and gives him "a piece" of her?
