- The PPL auctions are underway, the teams competing tooth and nail for the gods of cricket. But the machinations behind the scenes don't always translate well under pressure in the auction room. All as the PPL fate hangs in the balance.
- The PowerPlay League auctions are underway, the owners are competing tooth and nail to bag the best of the best. But it's the mind games that are trumping strategies. Zarina senses the Hurricanes' weakness and hits Handa right in his Achilles' heel. Vayu's stubbornness, however, turns out to be a roadblock in her foolproof plan. Zarina takes a tough stand for herself that results in a fall out with her producer. But she has a plan-B up her sleeve for her film. Vayu, trying hard to get Mantra's attention, is aggrieved when an old coach resurfaces in his life. There's a lot of toxic history to this relationship and Rohini is in the thick of it too. Back at the ICB, Bhaisaab establishes that he is the best man to be re-elected as President. Zarina is in awe of his vision and power. With preparations for the PPL on in full force and a thunderstorm on the horizon, an unavoidable course correction is imminent.
- Both Mumbai and Haryana want Tyler Jackson (David English), a front-line batsman. Rohini knows that Bangalore and Haryana will bid aggressively for him. She needs Tyler for less than 10 crores. Zarina knows that Haryana needs Arvind. So she forces Handa to bid more than 10 crores on Arvind, which leaves them with less money to bid for Tyler. Zarina forces Handa to pay 15 crores for Arvind. Mumbai gets Tyler for 9.5 crores.
Pritish warns Bhaisahab to not repeat the same mistake with Zarina, as he did with Vikrant. Bhaisahab is convinced Zarina is the right person for him. Mumbai wants a pacer. Rohini and Moses want an Australian, but Vayu wants Prashant (Siddhant Chaturvedi). Moses is not aligned as he feels Prashant didn't do well in the PPL nor after it (failed to make it to the UP Ranji team). Moses says Prashant is out of form, Vayu loses it and says he is the captain and he wants Prashant in the team. Zarina agrees to bid for him.
Prashant is still having nightmares about his showdown with Devender (Amit Sial), when Prashant shot him in the chest. Prashant is haunted by Devender's ghost. Mumbai go for Prashant at the auctions. Arvind realizes this and asks Handa to bid as payback to Mumbai. As the bidding rises, Vayu refuses to back down on Prashant, forcing Zarina to go out of budget. Mantra convinces Zarina to bid for Prashant as she feels this will buy them Vayu's loyalty. Mumbai eventually gets Prashant for 8.5 crores, whom they were hoping to pick for 50 lakhs.
For Devender's replacement Rohini suggests Zulfiqar Ahmed (Abhishek Pokhriyal). he is a Bangladeshi spinner. Vayu is dismissive again and earns a rebuke from Rohini. Zulfiqar has a control measure of 70%. Vayu doesn't know what control measure is. Batsmen can barely read him 30% of the times. Mumbai get him at the auctions for 50 lakhs. Next up is English all-rounder Tim Banks (Sam Woodhams). all the teams are interested in him and bids are through the roof. Haryana get him for 16 crores. They have spent 31/60 crores on just 2 players.
Rohini has a list of potentials for the auction, but Moses dismisses all of them as too young and not professionals. Despite her saying that Prashant was chosen from a similar list last season. Rohini feels with Moses, her ideas are not being valued. Rohini wants to share her list with Arvind, but he refuses as its not ethical. She still emails the list, as else the players will go unsold. Haryana needs 7-8 players and have only 2.5 crores left. Handa says if Zarina had such an opportunity, she would never have let it go. Arvind picks up players based on Rohini's list. One of them is Parth Kumar (Keshav Kumar). Parth was coached by Mukund Pansare (Makrand Deshpande), who was also Vayu's coach. Mukund used to coach Rohini as well, before she became an analyst.
Zarina wants revenue share in her next movie, but Wadhwa refuses her demand. Revenue share is offered to male stars only. Zarina walks away. She launches her own film production house. She announces the launch of her first film, with Imtiaz as her co-star. Bhaisahab is told that Eng and Aus boards are refusing to send their players to the PPL. Bhaisahab takes the matter to the ICB and proposes that India cancel their upcoming test series with both England and Australia to punish them. Mr Basu (Avijit Dutt) is the only dissenting voice on the board as the rest agree. During the gap, Bhaisahab proposes a 2nd PPL.
It is clear Vayu has feelings towards Mantra. Bhaisahab drops Zarina to her studio. In the car, he indicates that he wants to launch T20 in China, US and Brazil and has the funds for the same. But he needs a 2nd in command. Zarina thinks Bhaisahab is referring to Mantra, but he says she is too young. He indicates that he is hinting to Zarina. Bhatia (Bharat Bhatia) is Zarina's PA. He shows Zarina a press conference done by Faisal Hussain in which he announces that election dates are clashing with PPl. it is not possible to provide security for both, hence cancel this years PPL. Ayesha is shown to be in touch with Vikrant (Vivek Oberoi), who is watching the events on television.
