Disappointing
rann_rushing28 September 2020
Noah was completely miscast. And the writing was disappointing. There was absolutely no reason for Lilly to have feelings for Noah. For Hallmark's first foray into interracial relationships of main characters, I expected much more.

Kind of boring
jeff6813727 September 2020
Characters are hard to like and be hopeful for. Not a believable love story.

No Chemistry Among Whole Cast.
tebogodesilva27 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Very disappointing, I looked forward to it, but it almost looked like the cast didn't like being around each other. It felt forced and awkward that I couldn't even watch it all of it

Terrible Writing!
jagfannn2 October 2020
The male lead is selfish, whiny, rude and disrespectful during most of the movie so when they get together in the end, it leaves you shaking your head rather than giving you that feel-good ending they're looking for. 80 minutes isn't enough time for redemption when the characters stay unlikable for most of the movie.

Weak Script, Mixed Quality Cast
film_grrrl9 September 2021
The script is more than a little obvious, and many of the scenes are forced, but the female lead (Clark Backo) is good, albeit underused, and has a solid Hallmark vibe. She even manages to tolerate the utterly miscast and annoying male lead. That's an achievement.

Horrible
dmhavers-343753 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The main character, Lily, is trying to convince her sister (who she works for at the lodge) that she should be promoted, and in doing so, she has to work with Noah and help him plan his sister's wedding. However, Lily spends most of the movie nagging at Noah and telling him what to do, everything from what shoes to wear "never wear new boots on a hike" to condescendingly telling him to get off the phone and taking work calls. Both the main characters are annoying and irritating and I have no clue how they end up together at the end. Weird and boring.

As Good As Other HM Movies Ive Watched
autindall11 October 2020
I don't agree with most of the reviews of this movie. Yay for diversity and an interracial pairing. Chemistry between leads was good, it would have really been evident with a better storyline. I didnt think this movie was any worst than some of the HM movies I've watched. Glad we're moving toward more representation of all types of pairings.

Stiff characters and weird premise
cjf-7578028 September 2020
Agree with the other reviews that the acting was off, lead "romantic" characters had zero chemistry, and everything felt forced - esp the interracial aspect. If you're going to be diverse, use people who can act like they are attracted to each other or have some attractive qualities. It was just awkward overall.

Pleasant but gappy plot
andrew-1466527 September 2020
The plot follows a fairly classic Hallmark path. But the movements don't hold together well. Also the chemistry is weak among the couples.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
toncincin27 September 2020
Wow. This is one of the MOST boring Hallmark movies ever. Bad acting. No chemistry. Stupid story. The leads were awful. The supporting cast annoying. This one is right up there with a couple other recent REALLY BAAAAAAD Hallmark movies. Couldn't even watch it all. Wake up Hallmark - I used to love all of your movies. Not so much anymore.

Nothing special but it is realistic
SunnyDaise9 March 2021
This 'struggling new employee helps grief-struck workaholic' scenario is true to life and despite the misfit, I actually found this quite a relaxing movie. Presumably covid restricted the use of supporting actors, but this tiny cast is great for us - we're finding some movies too full on now after 12 months quietly isolating. It's family-friendly, with three generations represented. Not particularly memorable, but rewatchable.

Looking forward to seeing more of Clark Backo
WTinCA5 October 2020
Clark Backo is a very interesting screen presence and I hope to see more of her in the future. The film overall was not very original and mostly flat. I realize that the leading man was playing the typical annoying role that is supposed to become more likable by the end of the film, but honestly I think he was just miscast. I never felt the slightest bit of chemistry between him and Clark, and I think a stronger leading man would have made this much more entertaining. Bravo for at least doing an interracial romance without focusing on race. That is how it should be done.

Not worth looking out for
TheLittleSongbird24 March 2022
As has been said quite a number of times, Hallmark did do quite a number of above average and more films regardless of how over-reliant on a certain formula most were. When Hallmark missed, and they did quite a number of times in 2020, boy did they miss big time. 'Love at Look Lodge' did have the interest point of having one of the first glimpses of a more diverse cast, which was great and appreciated, more than welcome certainly.

'Love at Look Lodge' just didn't click in almost every way. It is on the same level of dire as the previous 2020 Fall Harvest film 'Follow Me to Daisy Hills', except this gets the slight edge when it comes to deciding which is the worst of the two. There was a sizeable group of misfires from Hallmark's 2020 output, 'Love at Look Lodge' is one of the worst. It is not worth looking out for and there is next to no love or nothing to fall in love with.

The only redeeming quality is the scenery, which is nice.

Nice is something that the rest of the production values can be described as. The editing being especially sloppy. The music was in serious need of a toning down in placement and tone, some serious over-scoring and emotion over-emphasis here. The direction is non-discernible, the momentum in the drama is non-existent and the character interaction is so static. The direction fails stylistically too, quite drab.

Script is awkward and full of cheese, also thought that a lot of it was too talky and that most was not necessary. There was also far too much bickering between the leads. The story has no charm, energy or heart, everything one expects to happen happens and happens pretty much exactly where one expects constantly. It is also incredibly dull, going at such a snail's pace in order to pad out such a wafer thin plot. The final act is tension-free and forced with a too unrealistically neat ending that is unwarranted.

Absolutely hated all of the characters, the flaws are all taken to extremes (and every character has at least two and very little redeeming) and the way they treat each other is a real turn off. Especially with the two leads, where the attraction is impossible to comprehend. Didn't detect any love between them, they didn't even seem to like each other. The supporting cast irritate with no exception and both leads are poor, especially a very wooden Jonathan Keitz. It was great to see the diversity but that could have been done more tactfully.

Overall, very, very bad indeed. 2/10.

boring and slow
taylornan27 September 2020
No chemistry between the two couples. I found it to be a boring yawner and ending up fast forwarding thru a lot of the second half. Wanted to give it a chance but just didn't enjoy it.

Cast did not click
monikatorresP928 September 2020
I've seen all the Hallmark movies but this one about put me to sleep. The cast all seemed awkward and no one really meshed together. Try it again, please.

Not worth watching!
hillhar13 October 2020
The writing is pathetic, the story is weak, and the main characters (who are lovely) never appear to actually be falling in love. While the Hallmark mysteries are uniformly excellent films, many of the newer movies are disappointing with poor writing and stilted acting.

Weak. Very weak.
stevenb304 October 2020
Pretty lame. No one had any chemistry, and the acting, on the whole, was weak. I see a lot of Hallmark movies. The casting, all of it, should have been rethought. And the script itself was a yawn.

Lily (Clark Backo)

Warning: Spoilers
Favorite scene with

Lily (Clark Backo) - Upset at Noah for Working instead of being a part of the Wedding after he said that he wasn't feeling well. Getting the tables turned on her by him. Getting Fired by her own Sister.

Zzzzz

I love virtually every Hallmark movie ever made, but this one was a real stinker. Terribly boring storyline, stilted acting and overall unbelievable. Kathryn Kohut was the only bright spot in this whole film. Oh, and the beautiful autumn decor in the wedding scene. Please Hallmark, don't half-ass my holiday movies!

Worst hallmark movie I've seen in a while...
kayla-6795311 December 2021
Like so many reviews have already said, there is no chemistry between the two leads...I don't feel that the female lead can act and she's very forgettable. The male lead, Jonathan Keltz, isn't a terrible actor, but this is not the kind of role for him in my opinion. He played Leigh Bayard in the TV series, Reign, and he easily held his own for several seasons. Sometimes certain films just aren't meant for some actors. It doesn't help that the entire storyline of this movie is ridiculous...Hopefully he will find another role that will be his niche.

the worst of hallmark
montgomerysue4 October 2020
This is Hallmark at its worst. The performers are fine, but they are saddled with a script that just rattles on and on without any kind of real complexity. It's just one big talk fest that takes minor situations and then makes the cast ramble on and on endlessly. None of the actors have any real chemistry between them, but how could they generate any when they are hampered with such a lifeless and dull storyline? Sometimes they look like they can't even believe what they have to recite. Skip this dog. The scenery and sets are quite nice, but the cast keeps getting in the way with that hackneyed script ! Originally titled "Falling for Look Lodge." I gave this an extra star because it might just be a cure for insomnia. Hallmark should change the title again to "Falling Asleep at Look Lodge" and market the DVD exclusively at pharmacies !

Hallmark, why????
jtgolding28 September 2020
I agree with the other reviews, which were more entertaining than the movie. Unfortunately, this was not one of their better ones.

Snoozefest
jamesflannery-8569825 May 2021
From what I had gathered from the movie info guide this was supposed to be about a wedding at a resort lodge. The first hour of the movie however was full of useless banter and lacking the snappy dialogue one comes to expect from a Hallmark movie. If you're like me you'll probably be so bummed out that you'll change the channel. A complete waste of time.

Hallmark great job
daphparker28 September 2020
This was a cute little movie. I'm glad to see diversity in a hallmark movie. It was a sweet love story. The couple's were cute. I'm not really understanding the negative comments. It was a typical Hallmark movie. Two people meet, and fall in love. It's not a major motion picture folks it's Hallmark. If you want oscar performances don't watch these movies.

I've always liked the Hallmark shows but not this one. Don't know if it's the script or what but I switched over to another Hallmark channel because this one was just not good.
