Shakugan no Shana – Season Two
Tweekums15 February 2016
Warning: Spoilers
This series sees the return of Yuji Sakai, Shana and most of the other characters from the first season as well as a few new ones. Yuji finds himself targeted by various individuals who want to take the 'Midnight Lost Child' from him; something that will lead to his death. Over the course of the series it emerges that he has a power somehow linked to the denizen who killed somebody close to Margery Daw and the Midnight Lost Child contains the spirit of Johan; somebody loved by a denizen named Pheles. There are also others who want to take the 'Midnight Lost Child' to create another powerful denizen that will endanger the world.

This was an enjoyable second series which takes the characters from the first series and develops them further… there is no time wasted explaining what is going on so it is advisable to watch the first series or the world in which this is set will be rather confusing. As before the characters are well designed and the action is animated well making it fairly exciting. It isn't just a series of fights though; there is a decent amount of emotional content making us care about the characters. Overall a fun series that I'd certainly recommend to anybody who enjoyed the previous series.

These comments are based on watching the series in Japanese with English subtitles.

Just as good as the first!!!

Warning: Spoilers
I said in my comment on shakugan no shana that I was a little worried about watching the second one because I could find myself disappointed... this absolutely didn't happen.

I found Shakugan no Shana II just as good as the first one... I agree with Pritcher (board) in the fact that it started a bit slow, although I found that kind of cool because they focused a lot on the romantic part. However, when the action really starts it gets a 100% better... Its just so exiting. My opinion in the animation remains the same (it could be better) and the music was fine (I liked the first's one better but this one's was also very good)...

Well, I don't know what else to say... Shana is a character that you absolutely fall in love with.. I ended up loving Shana!! and that is, in my opinion, the most important part of an anime series.

If you check ANN (anime news network) you will find Shakugan no Shana to be pretty far away from the first spot on the Bayesian estimate but to me its easily on my top 10. ...SPOILER... I did however missed more of the "urusai urusai urusai"!!! and I think they should have allowed Shana to say again "Watashi, Yuji ga suki (Yuji, I love you!!)" or have Yuji say it to Shana Would have been even better.. this is the only thing I really didn't like... the rest was perfect. ...END OF SPIOLER... I really recommend it... Is one of the best animes I've seen!!! I Love SHANA!!

Disappointed

Warning: Spoilers
I got annoyed with those retard girls between Yuji and Shana. This is harem in the worst version. Shana is a really alive and lovely character while the whining shorty and the third GF are really annoying. Every time Yuji and Shana seem to move ahead in their relationship, the whole deal will be spoiled by one the other brats. At first I feel really sorry for Shana, then I got angry that she tags along. In ep 4 she at last turned around and walked away which she must have done long time ago. At this happy note I quit watching. I mean one saves his life more than once and sacrifices her life for him and the other brings bad sandwiches - and yet he scolds Shana all the time for being cruel and insensitive and yells at her. On the other hand, the one with sandwiches' feelings are so precious to him. I wish Shana found a positive guy and left Yuji kiss the sandwich schmuck. I would gladly watch another season of his agony. For me the season is depressing.
