Goofs

The Wolf of Snow Hollow

Edit

Factual errors

The police cars have no unit identification number.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

To the naked eye, though, the Moon can appear to be full for upwards of three days. Only on one evening does it appear partial, otherwise it always appears full.

The Moon appears full the night before and the night after the actual date.
A town of 874 would not have such a large police department consisting of at least seven officers.

The cops are not just policing the town. They also cover the ski resort(s).
When John is called on several occasions on the police radio (walkie-talkie'), he replies "Go for John." In reality he would reply using his call sign, not his actual name.

This and several other of the errors made are explained by the amateurish nature of the small town police force.
When John save hes daughter Jenna from the car in which she was attacked, she demands to be taken to the hospital because she is 'bleeding from the skull.' One does not bleed from the skull, but the head (or brain).

Jenna is not medically trained, so she does not know the correct terminology.
The police have no names, insignia or identifiers on the front of back of their jackets. They wear shoulder badges which read 'SHERIFF DEPT.' ''Police' on the back is a basic universal. The police also wear blue jeans as part of their uniform.

This and several other of the errors made are explained by the amateurish nature of the small town police force.

Revealing mistakes

When Sheriff John goes to Paul Carnury's place, after the kettle has boiled, Paul slides one of the coffee mugs towards Paul. Both mugs appear empty, or certainly their is no coffee or tea visible in the top half of the mugs.

Character error

When Liz leaves the restaurant table to escape the creepy stranger, it seems unfathomable she would leave her three year old daughter alone in his presence.
In the restaurant four of the small town's police officer debate whether to allow the FBI to investigate the murder. It would not be their decision.

This and several other of the errors made are explained by the amateurish nature of the small town police force.
When Liz exits the car to investigate the deer carcass, she leaves her daughter unattended in the car with a window rolled down in a snowstorm. This does not seem a mother's course of action with her child present when she is away from the vehicle.
