Plot Summary

Farewell Waltz takes place in pre-WWII England. Charles, a black immigrant farm-boy, sees the girl of his dreams passing by. Her name is Rose, but she is a wealthy white girl and Charles quickly realises that his feelings are just a fantasy. However, when a surprising turn of events presents him with the opportunity to follow his heart, he is unable to. What initially appears to be a cold rejection turns out to be an act of love, and we learn that Charles is much more than meets the eye. Written by Kaine Levy

Trivia The information on Charles' dog tag reads: "C W KING" "CE" "25031917". The 'W' is for Walter, the 'CE' is for Church of England, and the regimental number is Walter Tull's date of death. Tull was the first Black British Officer in World War 1, and the film was inspired by and in homage to him. See more »
