- The entire episode revolves around a classic farce setup -- characters in love with a female character (in this case, Lum's Stormtroopers and Mendou) try to prevent what they believe to be their unobtainable object of desire (Lum) from having sex with someone else, only to have the audience discover at the end that the two weren't going to have sex after all. The various characters have lurid fantasies of Lum being ravashed by Ataru and mention constantly about protecting her virtue, to the point of Lum asking flat-out when had she appointed them her moral guardians. A supporting character, one of Mendou's bodyguards, dresses in obvious drag for the entirety of the episode, and acts in a stereotypically camp gay manner.
