The first time I haven't liked Shaun. And Claire wasn't that great either....

Warning: Spoilers
He behaved like a brat, wanting Dr Park to give the bad news to the patient whilst he still got to do the surgery.

The meltdown was also a bit OTT.

Claire was also pretty unprofessional, taking her problems out on a patient's wife.

Nice to see a balanced look at the value of trust in your partner

So nice to see an episode dealing with a firearm that places the responsibility and trust in the person, rather than the often seen irrational fear of the firearm as a tool of destruction. The fact that vulnerable people can protect themselves with firearms is often not represented. Well done. The fact that this lesson was presented by Shaun by asking 'Does she let you touch her breast?" makes the lesson even more prescient. In other words, this person allows you to have intimate contact with you, revealing an amazing offering of trust, so you should also trust that they know what they are doing, and how best to protect themselves.

Meh

I typically love this show, but this episode was annoying because they just had to add politics to it.

S3.E5 - Guns guns guns [9/10]

Warning: Spoilers
(S3. E5) My Live Reaction / Review for The Good Doctor Season 3 Episode 5 ''First Case, Second Base''. The previous episode was good and I gave it a rating of 9/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. Time for Shaun's first surgery, this is exciting. Dr. Glassman doesn't like that Debbie has a gun? That's so dumb. What happened? Is Shaun losing his mind? Cant he do the surgery? So Shaun didn't do the surgery but he helped save this woman's life, that's good. Dr. Glassman has become obsessed with Debbie's gun, its so annoying. Shaun and Carly are so cute together. Overall this episode was good and I enjoyed it. My rating is 9/10.

What a load of .....

Warning: Spoilers
The behaviour of Shaun Murphy in the OR is inexcusable, to walk out in the middle of surgery and it is truly horrendous that the senior physicians allowed his desertion of the patient with no consequences.

I understand that the series is supposed to depict someone with autism trying to deal with the realities of moden day medicine but there are no real consequences for any of his bizarre reactions to situations and his lack of ability to communicate effectively. I don't care how ' brilliant' he is supposed to be I would not want him as my physician.
